Chapter 5 “Okay, next up is Rachel.” Rachel all eyes turned to Rachel, who was sitting at the far end of the conference table. She was leaning forward, her right elbow on the table, her hand cupping her chin. In her other hand she held a pencil, which she spun around absently on the slick formica veneer, a vacant, faraway look in her eye. Wherever she was, she was completely oblivious to the business being conducted at the monthly staff meeting of The Evergreen News. "Rachel?" Rudely jerked out of her reverie, Rachel sat up with a start. She saw that the vice president, who conducted the meetings, and everyone else sitting around the table were staring at her expectantly.
