Chapter 1: Quarry meets Frostbite

The flashback ended as one day later, Quarry was doing happily in school. He was confused, though, about why people spoke and gossiped about him. He was a bit worried, but that talk won't stop him from surveying his surroundings... however... he did notice someone else as he saw a 22-year-old woman.

"Um... hi." she said.

"Eep!"

"Don't worry. I won't bite. Can bark sometimes, but yeah, I won't bite."

He trusts her saying. He didn't get nervous further anymore. "Wait... are you the woman that Mantra and Delos met?"

"Yes, I am."

"I'm their friend. I just moved here just like them."

"I can tell. They told me you, Delos and Mantra were starting enrolling. Congrats!"

"Thanks."

"Hey, Noelle! Come on! We're gonna be late for breakfast if we don't hurry!" said a woman with green hair.

"Coming, Mallow! Care to join?"

"Me? Of course!"

He joined the woman and her friends for breakfast as he followed her in the cafeteria...

"Hm? Lords?"

"Quarry!" said Toby, the human Lord of the Sea.

"Quarry? You're also starting enrolling here?" asked Nick, the woman's boyfriend and the Lord of the Earth.

"Well, yeah, now that you mention that... eh?"

He noticed a female Ice Gormiti named Frostbite, who was drawing a picture of the woman's Water Pokémon, a male Sobble named Lanyon and a female Popplio named Bonita. "Okay... aaaaaand... done!" she said as she puts her blue colored pencil in her pencil box, closed it and looked at Quarry. "Huh?"

Both stared as they fell in love and blushed.

"Oooooouh... SOMEONE'S JUST GOT A CRUSH ON QUAR-RY!" "...Hmm? Frostbite? Hello!"

"I don't think she has a crush on him, Toby." said a boy named Sophocles.

"Why not?" said Lucas, the Lord of the Forest.

"I think they're both lovesick at first sight."

"Wait... just like me and Noelle."

"TOGEEEEEEEEH?!?!" shouted Sophocles' Togedemaru the woman nicknamed Amelia.

"Pikaa-chuuuu..." said a black-haired boy named Ash's Pikachu she nicknamed Ollie.

"Well... that was weird..." said Ash.

"Shhh!" shushed Kiawe, Ash's rival and friend. "Watch." he then said.

"...Hi."

"...Hi."

"Frostbite, this is our friend, Quarry."

"Quarry, this is our friend Lillie's servant, Frostbite."

"I'm pleased to meet you."

"I'm honored."

"Awwww... that's so cute when they're together..." said the wife of the chef Mung Daal.

"Truffles, what are you doing here?"

"Well, thought I might I wanna tell you that forty new students were chosen for something."

"A new guardian team?"

"There you go. Something like that. Plus, Lusamine just spoke with me, Schnitzel, Mung and Chowder about 40 new beastmen called Wonderworlders reported on Earth."

"AH!" the friends all shouted.

"My mom called?!" said Lillie.

"What did she say about it?!" asked Jessica, the Lord of the Air.

"Hmm..."

"Truffles... what's wrong?"

"Well... she said we have a problem going on with it. While the Aether Foundation were hiding crystals with their costumes and powers, something snuck into the building and struck Faba."

"SAAAAY WHAAAAT?!"

"Oh man! Not good!"

"We're gonna need to find a new team... and quick."
