Chapter 3

He watched her dress hurriedly and quietly as he laid on the king-sized bed, admiring the figure in front of him. She knew he was awake but decided to pretend. He didn't want to bother her too, she was done with her work, she had gotten her pay and he needed her out of his way. He loved his women thick, he loved challenges too and thick women did give him that. But as much as he loved the moments, the memories and the feelings, he was always aware that they are never meant to last. It was the reason he didn't repeat any woman. Not since Blaze. He thought of her every time he touched a woman, he thought of her every time he saw his brand name, and he thought of her every time anything with a v****a and breasts came within his sight. She had taught him the hard lesson and he had taken notes, he had become a good student, and now, he taught the upcoming girls. One thing with the girls though, they were never good students. Shutting his eyes, Logan deliberately closed every thought about her and focused on what was at hand; the meeting. He knew his team had great taste but it was company tradition and it had to be maintained. He worked a lot. It showed on the hard lines on his face, on the tiredness of his eyes and his forced smile he always returned to a genuine one. He grabbed his phone, pressed some buttons and soon descended down the elevator, stepped out of the hotel, and moved into his waiting convoy. They were all seated when he came in with his entourage. All twenty girls, team managers, his secretary and a few other company officials. Mia Delavon was speaking and paused when he arrived but he acknowledged her with a nod to continue. It gave him time to think of what he was going to say and also to do a quick look over of who he would be dealing with. A profile of all girls had been sent to him as soon as the selection was made but the past weeks before the meeting was spent dealing with a lot of pending family issues and in between so many legs. He had barely assessed the second lady when Mia finished her speech, and Logan knew she cut it short to not keep him waiting. He let out an exasperated sigh and got to his feet, motioning with his hands for them to remain seated. In his opinion, people did a lot when they found themselves around the wealthy, it was totally unnecessary. He took in the loud silence in the room before speaking. "I believe a lot was said before my arrival and I believe every important aspect of what you need to know as representatives of this company has been covered. So, I won't go into much detail. Blaze is not just any brand; Blaze is a royal brand in this industry and we intend to keep it that way. As team members, it is your responsibility to keep it that way. I need dedication, I need creativity, I need enthusiasm and if I don't see it in you, the contract is over. Go through the terms over and over again, they're really simple. We collaborate here, and so your ideas are welcome, your questions are also welcome. Do what you have to do to ensure our objectives are met, I ask for nothing more." He smiled, but no one could tell it was fake. "So, here is me, Logan Wood, CEO of Blaze Fashion, welcoming you to our world of fashion. I hope you enjoy this partnership." They applauded as he took his seat. He had done too many of these speeches to not know what to say at any time and in any situation. They had a toast and while other matters went by, he was conscious of the eyes on him. In her twenty-two years of walking this earth, Markyla had seen fine men, but tonight, she found out there were levels to men. Logan Wood was a walking god, the photos she saw online failed to portray this fact. Her eyes were fixed on him since he walked through the door. How could one man be so handsome, wealthy, and hot at the same time? She had walked into that hall that evening with the intention of standing out in terms of being the best at what she does, but in that seat, she had a change of mind. It wouldn't hurt to have an additional objective. She knew that feeling, that tingling sensation between her legs, and the unsettling in her stomach. She also knew that feeling didn't end well but for this man, she was willing to risk it all. It wasn't until she heard the scrapping of chairs as they arose for a group photograph that she realized she had missed out on all the information shared. She had Harvey to fill her in later so she didn't bother. That night was torment. Markyla found herself up on the internet, going through every article and photo she could find of Logan Wood. Who was this man that decided to live rent free in her head for the past hours, and why was she not sleeping when she had an orientation to attend the following day? There was a lot on her list but somehow this man had made his way to the top. Then she saw him, a younger version. As much as there was a striking resemblance, she also noticed a striking difference. Those eyes were caramel, Logan's were blue, an extreme dark shade of it. Maybe he wore contacts, she thought. He is a fashion icon, there would be nothing weird about that. That was until she looked at the name below the photograph. She squinted at the tiny letters that read "Bryan Wood."
