Chapter 8 This is no ordinary ghost. The infestation is full-on inside the shop. The floor is slick with ice. Frost covers the shelves and counters. Everything is so white and bright, my eyes hurt. I squint and shield them from the glare, but it doesn’t do much good. The cashier is cowering in the cabinet beneath the register, not that I blame him. But this being isn’t after him, or William, or anyone else at this mall. It’s after me. A wave of icy frustration nearly knocks me over. As it is, I stumble backward into William.
