Surviving! For the unknown reasons

The trial part one

*“you know I heard that someone likes you Riley” I laughed “oh please and who do you believe likes me” she folded her arms “him” she pointed behind me I turned at there he was with his group of friends talking and laughing I turned back to her laughing taking her arm in mine “yeah ok, sure he does” I looked at her. Her face was serious I held my hands up I defence “ok ok but you heard from who, him, himself did he personally tell you this” her “well no not to my face he didn’t” me “well there you are then how could he possibly like me” she slapped me hard on the back “ANYONE would be lucky to have you as there girlfriend so stop saying that it really pisses me off when you think so low and speak so low about yourself” she yelled catching a few peoples attention.

Me “will you stop shouting” her “will you stop talking bad about yourself” she when to yell again when I covered her mouth “yes I’ll stop” I removed my hand and she closed her mouth.*

I felt like I was being shaken, I opening my eyes “oh my head” I could feel it throbbing I swear I’m going to beat the s**t out of someone looking around I’m in a field “quickly get up” a boy about two years younger then me, “quickly we need to go” I stood up looking around “where are we” the boy “I don’t know but we can’t stay here we need to go” he grabbed my hand pulling me.

“Ok but where” I asked confused the boy “we need to get to there” he pointed at small island in the lake he started running when the most terrifying growl I’ve ever heard echoed across the large field the boy froze and so did I.

“What the f**k was that” the boy was shaking looking at the ground before looking at me “the beast what protects the island its woken up” in the distance there stood two other s when they were suddenly throw four feet away the boy “please we need to go” I looked around and there are five rather large trees that seemed to stop by the edge of the lake me “up there” I glanced up and so did the boy he nodded before quickly climbing up and I soon after when the ground started to shake.

Pulling myself up into the trees “now what’s so important on the small island” the boy “a little device we need to grab one in order to get out” “ok then we use the trees ok we be as quiet as possible” he nodded slowly working our way to the next tree we heard screams of the others being thrown. The boy nearly crying “shh don’t cry look at me” he did and I wiped away his tears and he hugged me which I was taken aback by.

“Tell me what’s your name” he looked up “Ryan what about you” me “Riley nice to meet you Ryan now how do you know so much about what we have to do” Ryan “my older brothers they had do this when they were young they told me that the beast will hunt everyone down and if it catches you it kills you” me “did they say how to get past it” Ryan “ sadly no they didn’t they said that I have to find that out for myself” the tree suddenly started to move a little “let’s go”.

We quickly made it to the other tree the last one Ryan “what now” “can you swim” Ryan “what in there” he pointed to the lake “yeah it’s jump and swim or wait here and die” Ryan “jump” that’s what I thought we jumped into the lake when the beast lunged at us Ryan “ah” we both landed in the water.

Swimming to the small dragging my self onto the dry grass I reached for Ryan he grabbed my hand pulling him onto the grass Ryan “we made it” me “we did now what…” “your hurt” Ryan “it’s just a scratch that’s all” he stood holding his side well he can walk so I get up as well Ryan “there” he pointed at a large oak tree looking at the tree I did have crates all around it even some in the branches.

*snap* we stopped when from behind the tree we was next to a foul smell hit us then the ground started to shake a little “what’s that…” Ryan whispered “I don’t know” we stood still when a large somewhat rotten paw hit the ground four large rotten paws only a few inches away standing completely still Ryan and I look at each other before looking back at the rotting four legged dead creature it has stilled also when it hit me a faint smell of blood “Ryan are you bleeding by any chance” I whispered into his ear with a shaky voice “a little” we watched as the beast sniffed the air “it can smell the blood” the rotting creature stayed there for a while Ryan “what do we do now”.

Looking around the only thing within reach was a large tree but it was right next to the rotting creature “I don’t know” when there was yelling “YAY WE MADE IT” the creature was gone within seconds soon followed by “AHHHHHHHH” “YOU s**t HEAD YOU SAID THAT THE ISLAND WAS SAFE” I looked at Ryan “now run” we both booked it to the middle of the island were there was a wooden barn once inside we closed the door but left a slight little gap so we could look outside Ryan “perfect, we have one of each item” he started filling a bag. Looking at the large backpack I quickly grabbed one opening it up so I can fill there was a rather large note.

Before you begin grabbing at everything there is one rule you can only pick one of each item unless it states otherwise trying taking more then one item from a one item only section you’ll be electrocuted which in turn will alert the beast that protects this island and barn.

First aid kit (for one)

Dust mask

Smart phone (I’ll explain this one later as its not just a normal smart phone)

Map

Personal hygiene kit (for one should last 5 days)

Matches for lighting a fire ( two boxes)

Waterproof clothing

Two sets of extra clothes

One pair of shoes

Compass

Knife / hatchet

Water purification system

Making sure that I get everything on the list I carefully put them in the large backpack double checking that I have everything I closed the backpack making sure that none of the items can fall out on the back of the note the backpack is water proof so no electrical’s will get damaged.
