Morgan regained his senses and turned to check on Cat. He saw the hole the bullet created in the front of her tactical vest. She began to move with a drawn-out groan. “Ah, f**k! That hurt,” she said as she looked down on her chest. She removed her load bearing harness and tactical vest. As she did so, the round that she took in the chest fell to the floor, stopped by her Kevlar body armor. “You okay?” Morgan asked. “I’m fine, James. Just mad as hell right now. I hate getting shot.” “You’ve been shot before?” “Of course. Just been fortunate so far that I’ve been wearing body armor each time. I think I just used up another of my nine lives.
