ALYSSA My phone alarm buzzed by four am, indicating that it was time for me to get up and sneak away from Zaiden's bed before he woke up and caught me in it. Or worse, my son caught me in it. I blinked open, and Zaiden's sleeping face immediately came into view. The window curtains were parted slightly, allowing moonlight to flood into the room. It allowed me to trace the sharp contours of his face with my eyes. I took him in silently, memorising every inch of him. Probably for the last time.
