“A b-baby?” I forced the words out of my instantly scratchy throat.
My eyes swung from Yara’s excited ones to Zaiden’s resigned ones.
No, it couldn’t be. There was no way he was actually consenting to this. Had they slept together? Had he been cheating on me this whole time while beating off other men from my life like a possessive neanderthal? Wouldn’t that just be the height of hypocrisy?
“Yeah. A baby! How exciting is that,” the model blinked at me innocently but we both knew her timing was only meant as a barb to me. Had zaiden told her about our issues and she was suddenly swooping in like the majestic eagle to snap him up?
