Cleo
5 more minutes.
Just 5 more minutes and I can take the win on this day.
After the more than awkward lunch, the rest of my day went seamlessly. After the bell, I was fortunate enough to have a study period to roam the halls and get better acquainted with the school until my final class of the day. Thankfully, I lucked out and have 4th period Advanced Chemistry. The average person would usually steer clear of advanced sciences, but there has always been something about how the world, the body, and every living thing works that just draws me right in.
Today though; different story.
4 more minutes.
Ugh, I can just hear my moms voice in my head “a watched pot never boils Cleopatra”
I just want out of here. I still can’t believe the outburst that came from Mr. Broody today at lunch. Who the hell reacts like that? Maybe I had my sass meter cranked a bit to high, but so what? We were all having a great time up until he decided to cast his dark shadow at the table, not to mention the fact that he was staring. Again. As soon as I caught on to him openly staring at me, I just couldn’t bite my tongue, despite my best efforts. The worst part about it? Not only did his staring cause a weird warmth to float around me instead of feeling creeped out, I actually felt a bit bad for snapping at him. For me, this is a big deal. I am never one to get snippy with a stranger unless it’s appropriate, aka if they’ve given me a real reason to return the attitude.
RIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG
Jumping to the sound of the bell, I realize that I got caught up in my own head far too easy. Damn him. Minor distraction, but a distraction none the less. Grabbing my bag, I pull out my phone to check my messages.
Izzy: Yo b***h, meet me in the lot!
Rolling my eyes, I make my way out for class. Opening up i********:, I start scrolling through my feed. Distracted, I bump into someone and my phone flies from my hands.
Bending to pick up my phone I say “Oh my god. I am so sorry!” As I straighten, I come face to face with a glare and an angry expression. This girl did not look impressed.
“Yeah, you should be sorry, and it would be best for you to remember that” She spat, voice dripping with venom.
“Woah, okay now. Take a breath, it was an accident, and I apologized. No need to be so hostile” I said in reply, trying to diffuse the situation.
“b***h please. I know you’re new here, but the sooner you figure out your place, the better. Pay the f**k attention where you’re going and stay out of my way” she snapped. Shocked beyond belief, all I could do is stare back at her. I can only imagine what my face looks like.
What is happening right now? This girl cannot be serious.
“Oh, and stay away from Osiris” she added. Giving me one final up-down, disgust written all over her face, she strutted off down the hall.
This girl is Lucifer in the flesh
Shaking my head at what just happened, I continued off down the hall towards the exit.

“Oh. My. God. She did NOT” Izzy said, practically fuming. I had just finished telling her what happened while we drove in my car, making our way to my place. Through the conversation, I've learned that Lucifers name is Amber, and that she considers herself and her 'crew' the 'it' girls of the school. How classic!
“Oh yes she did” I answered.
"How did you not rock her one Cleo?" Cairo asked from the backseat.
"First off all, in all honesty, I was shocked that it was even happening in the first place. Secondly, despite where you're concerned, I don't just go around hitting people little brother" I said with a small smirk on my face.
"LITTLE?! Ha! Nice try there short stack" Cairo retorted.
"Back to the point... What an actual b***h! Amber is... GAH! I don't even have words! I can't believe she had the nerve to come at you like that, she doesn't even know you. I mean, okay, yes I can believe it because she is that crazy, but still!" She rambled on.
"Honestly, I'm not going to stress this. It's a waste of energy and brain power. I could be using my brain for more productive things, although she won't getting away with this a second time around" I stated.
Pulling into the wrap around drive way, I parked and we all grabbed our bags to head into the house.
Dumping our things on the front table, we made our way into the kitchen, Cairo making a beeline for the fridge. Typical.
As Cairo pulled various items from the fridge, Izzy and I took a seat at the kitchen island.
"Hey, I'm going to whip up some nachos, you want some?" Cairo asked over his shoulder.
"f**k yeah! Mmm, add extra cheese!" Izzy replied in excitement.
"Haha, yeah, what she said" I laughed out in reply.
"Sweet! Comin' right up ladies!"
As Cairo got to work, completely in his element while in the kitchen, I turned to Izzy with a question that had been bugging me since lunch.
"Sooooooo, what is the deal with Osiris? The guy has a major attitude problem, not to mention the fact that I got torn into because of him" I asked her.
Judging by the look on Izzy's face, something told me that was a loaded question.
