Cleo
Well... I think I'm drunk.
Can't feel my feet? Check. Can't feel my tongue? Check. Room spins when I move too fast? Absolutely.
Looking down into my cup, I'm trying to figure out what I'm drinking. Pink something. Or no, maybe it started with 'white'. f**k. Well, whatever it is, it's f*****g delicious.
This party is like no other. There are people everywhere, all laughing and dancing, or at least attempting to dance. I can't say that I've had this good of a time at a party before. I was sitting up on the counter in the corner, safe spot, as I watched everyone enjoying themselves. I had long since lost sight of Izzy, funny enough Corbin was missing too. Oh well!
"YES! F**K YEAH!"
I heard the loud yell and swung my head in the direction it came from to see what's going on.
Woahhhhh. F**k. Too fast Cleo, too f**king fast.
Grabbing the counter for extra support, I closed my eyes for a second to catch my bearings, what was left of them at least. Opening my eyes, I look up to see Oliver coming my way with a huge smile on his face.
"You see that s**t Spitfire? I f**king kick ass. They should make me quarterback with that kind of aim"
How he was still able to talk without slurring his words was beyond me. Must be nice to be as big as a f*****g fridge and then some.
"Sorry big man, I missed it. I am completely in bliss in my corner"
"Well f**k. Next time spitfire, next time. You doing okay? How's the status of that cup?"
Looking down, I contemplated my answer.
"Hmm, well she's either half empty or half full! I should probably slow down though. I haven't stood up in a minute, I think I'm toasted"
"Haha, okay there half pint. Let me go grab us some waters. Don't move."
"Sir, yes sir!" I replied with a salute. "By the way, what's in my cup!?"
"I think Griffin has been feeding you White Freezies all night" he answered, then took off in search of that good old H2O.
"WHITE FREEZY! That's the one!" I shouted to no one but myself. Realizing my outburst, I snorted, and I mean that ugly, deep from the sinuses snort, then slapped a hand over my mouth and proceeded to silently laugh to myself.
Completely unaware to my observers, I sat and continued to sip away at the rest of my drink.
"Hey, you're Corbin's cousin right?" came a voice to my left, startling me and causing me to jump.
"HOLY s**t!" I yelled, clutching at my chest and trying to not spill my drink. "Woah, f**k my head" I set my drink down and clutched my head to ground myself.
"Ah s**t, my bad, I didn't mean to scare you. Are you okay?"
Slowly letting go of my head and turning to the perpetrator, I replied "Yeah, just had to make the world stop spinning"
"Too much to drink?"
"Hmm, maybe. Who's asking" I said, raising an eyebrow.
"Haha, fair enough. Anyway, sooo yeah, aren't you the new girl? Corbins cousin?" the perp asked.
"Uh yeah, and you are?...."
"s**t my bad. Again. My name is Kaden" he replied, offering his hand to shake.
Slowly, while trying to give my best 'I'm watching you' look, I reached out and shook his hand briefly, then nodded in response. Next thing I knew, there was an awkward silence.
Rocking back on his heels, he looked around and then back to me and said "...Okay, well, what's your name?"
"Cleo" I replied
"Oh, I like it. So Cleo, what's your poison tonight?"
Picking up my cup, I decided now would be a good time to chug the rest back. After downing the remnants of my sweet bubbly, I set my cup down and answered with a smile "White Freezy"
"Can I get you another?" He asked, looking a bit eager.
"No. You can't. I think she's done for the night" Came a deep voice from behind Kaden.

My house was packed, which really was to be expected the first week back. Thankfully, this time around, most everyone was being respectful. Sure my parents owned one of the largest development companies in the state, but that didn't exactly mean we were okay with people destroying s**t in the house.
Right now, we were easily 4 hours in and closing in on midnight. Taking a drink of my rye and ginger, I took another scan around the main floor. This section of the main floor was fairly open concept, and if you sat in just the right spot, you catch almost anything that happened. As my line of sight connected with the kitchen, I took opportunity to watch her. She was uniquely beautiful and she clearly didn't know to what extent. I found her still in the same spot sitting in the corner of the counter and leaning against the cabinets. She seemed so care free, not directly involved in some of the madness, yet not quite a wallflower. Just perfectly content observing and periodically participating in the camaraderie. How she was able to find the balance so easily was beyond me, but maybe it was just natural.
I watched on, forgetting about everyone and everything else around me, as she bopped lightly to the music, her little feet tapping to the beat, and the slight movements of her lips as she mouthed the words to the song in between taking drinks from her cup.
"YES! F**K YEAH!" I turned my attention as I heard Oliver shout in triumph over having won yet another round of beer pong. I watched as he turned in her direction and made his way over to her. After exchanging words and seeing her shake her head no to what I assumed was Olivers question to another drink, he nodded and took off toward the garage.
I hope he's getting her water
"My brother! I've been looking for you!" came from beside me, pulling my attention away from her.
Pulling out a chair and flopping onto it, I could tell that Griffin was on his way to being completely s**t faced. Great, good thing I know how to pace myself.
"Well I can't imagine I was all that hard to find" I replied.
"Well damn, you caught me. I wasn't actually looking very hard" he said with a snort.
"So what's with the creeper mode?"
"Creeper mode?" I answered nonchalantly, making sure to keep my attention elsewhere.
I cannot have him reading me right now
Griffin has this weird s**t where he always knows what I'm thinking. Call it twin intuition or whatever the f**k, but honestly, more often than not it was a huge pain in the ass. Over the years he's somewhat learned to keep a better lid on it, key word SOMEWHAT, and there have been fewer incidences of being awkwardly called out in front of people.
"Yeah. Creeper mode. Staring, watching, however you want to label it, but you've been drilling holes into Cleo all night. So again, what's with the creeper mode?"
"Jesus man, can you f**k off? I haven't been drilling holes into her or any stupid s**t like that. To put it simply, I've been scanning the party, unlike you, to make sure things stay under control this time. Also, if she's going to be part of our group, the least I can do is keep track that she's okay" I responded, my tone full of annoyance.
"Okay, okay, I'll lay off. Just... make sure you know what you're doing" he replied, putting his hands up in surrender.
Turning my head in her direction, I spot none other than Kaden f*****g Brooks chatting her up. "God damn it" I murmured. Setting my drink down and standing, I held my hand up to shut Griffin up and started to walk in their direction.
"Bro, what the f**k. Where are you..... Oh s**t"
Ignoring Griffin behind me, I moved toward with kitchen with purpose.
"...Can I get you another?"
"No. You can't. I think she's done for the night" I said gruffly from behind Kaden.
Not f**king happening buddy
