An hour after, the clueless secretary returned with the “important” files he was asked to retrieve from the CEO’s apartment. By now, the cousins knew that Alexandra did not pack up and leave. Although the secretary had keys to the house, he never used it since the boss got married. He told Charles that he rang the bell, and it was the missus who opened the door for him and led him to the study to get the files he was asked to take. After telling that he did well, Charles sent him back to his station and he returned to Jack’s office with the folder.
“She didn’t leave,” Charles reported as he placed the folder on Jack’s desk, and they sighed in relief.
