Drown Their Sorrow In Tequila

The man next to her gave a soft laugh, making Alex turn to him. Tanned skin, laughing almond eyes, and a handsome face which was clearly with Asian blood welcomed her and her mouth formed an 'O'.  If the guy laughed, it meant he understood what she said— so he's Korean like her, right? "I'm sorry," Alex said hastily but the guy shook his head. "It's okay. I'm thinking the same," the man assured her as he extended his hand. "Jacques Cole," he supplied, and Alex wondered where she'd heard the name as she shook hands with him. "Alexandra Lee," she said. "Well, two people meeting with the same woes must be fate, right?" Jacques asked, and Alex found herself smiling. "It must be," she agreed as she wondered what crappy thing happened to the man to be of the same mind, and in no time, the two of them were drinking and exchanging stories. Whether it was because of the alcohol or because they both knew they wouldn’t be seeing each other after tonight, they let themselves be vulnerable as they told their circumstances. "I don't want to get married but it seems I had no choice in the matter," the man, Jacques said which made Alex curious. “Why not?” she asked. He looked like someone who wouldn’t let just anyone control him. To be cornered into marriage when he obviously didn’t want to, there must be a huge circumstance. “My old man died in an accident,” he said softly and Alex regretted asking. Based on how his voice altered, he must still be mourning his father’s death. “I’m sorry,” she whispered, but the man, Jacques, shook his head. “Don’t be. It’s been half a year, and we’re not that close,” he said. “But he left a will. I have to get married before or on my thirtieth birthday or lose everything.” Eh? Alex was dumbfounded. She didn’t know that there was still such a thing happening among families. Well, she was in a similar circumstance. But, at least, her supposed marriage was voluntary on her part even if she was not marrying for love. “How about you?” he asked afterwards. "Me?" Alex’s lips stretched into a bitter smile as she downed another shot of tequila. “I was supposed to get married tomorrow.” The man raised a brow in her direction as if asking her why and she chuckled and shrugged. “A classic case of a woman finding her fiancé in bed with a b***h before the wedding,” she said nonchalantly as if it had nothing to do with her. The man looked at her for a while before shaking his head. “I’m sorry to hear that. I take it, it happened just before you came here?” Alex nodded. “Don’t be sorry. I’m not that in love with the cheating asshole anyway.” “Why get married then? You don’t look like someone her family forced into marriage.” Alex smiled at his observation skills. “Well… I inherited a company recently. But I’m not a business person. I have no ability to take care of it so I thought I could marry someone who can take over.” “Why not just sell it then?” Alex shook her head. “I may not like doing business, but the company was founded by my mom. It’s a memento of her.” “I see,” the man murmured with a thoughtful look as he took a swig on his glass. “So it means anyone will do as long as he can help you with business?” “Of course not,” Alex laughed. “My ex and I went way back in high school. He’s been courting me for that long and even followed me at work. The jerk always said he loves me— look at what his love did. Cheating asshole,” she said woefully over endless glasses of whiskey and shots of tequila. A couple of more hours after, in the midst of blurry lights and carefree laughter, two souls held each other's hands as they danced in reckless abandon to Rihanna's song. "I've been let down but never been tainted so I stay thirsty for more No, I won't hold back, no drop is wasted. I let love run its course" Their bodies moving in sync with the music, eyes focused on nothing but each other, with each touch, each caress, the two of them got closer and closer. "Take me away.  I wear my heart on my sleeve, always let love take the lead I may be a little naïve, yeah You know I'm drunk on love, drunk on love nothing can sober me up You know I'm drunk on love, drunk on love nothing can sober me up It's all that I need…" The woman's arms anchored over the man's shoulder while the latter held her hips firmly against his, grinding against the seductive music. "You're so pretty…" he murmured, his voice sending pleasant signals down her spine. "I'm so intoxicated I love the way you taste on my lips when we kiss You got me so addicted So much I can't resist. Falling into your arms Take me away…" "Let's get out of here," the man invited seductively, and in no time, the two of them were running outside, still holding each other's hands as they laughed like children. They didn't know where they went. They just walked and walked, tried out different establishments, met different interesting characters including Elvis Presley, and then ran out laughing together all through the night. Alas, near dawn, the kindred spirits came back together at the man's hotel room, tearing at each other's clothes as they hungrily kissed, their hands exploring each other's bodies with desperation. Both marked each other's bodies, as they held onto each other, riding along with the tides of both pleasure and pain, healing each other's heartaches in the process. No, they didn't care about the world. No, they didn't care about the future. What they cared about was tonight, when nothing but being together felt right. Several hours later, the sunlight streamed from the window, making the people on the bed stir as they came slowly awake. Alex felt deliciously sore that she wanted to continue sleeping but the light hurt her eyes, and so, she groggily sat up and started. The pain from her forbidden region shot up making her wince as she jerked, making the man on the bed sit up sleepily in annoyance. "What are you doing?" Jacques grumbled as he and Alex turned to each other— and stopped. Blue doe eyes which became alert instantly locked with the other's almond orbs, both staring at each other in shock as realization sank in. "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
