“But you have to recall I was as wasted as you were last night,” Jacques reminded her and he felt Alex relax against him.
They stayed like that for several more minutes. Alex continued to mumble to herself as if she was having her own internal debate. They were incoherent to Jacques, but he didn’t mind. He patiently waited for her to sort out her thoughts on her own without bothering her which would put more pressure on her. He was already glad and satisfied that she had stopped fighting him.
When he thought she was finally over her panic attack and he took the opportunity to remind her of his promise.
