"Quit staring at me like that," I said, my voice muffled by a mouthful of turkey and Swiss. I leaned back against the headrest, shamelessly licking a stray crumb from my bottom lip. The sandwich was a religious experience after the disaster that was Daniel’s party. Daniel didn't look away. He didn't even blink. He just sat there in the shadows of the SUV, his eyes tracking the movement of my tongue with a dark, terrifying focus.
