Chapter 18 A month had passed since Thorald had moved to live with the Natives. The August sun was hot and scorching, Ulfr felt it burning on his very pale skin, but he had not heard from him for a month and felt the desire to see him again. It had not been a good idea to leave with the sun already high, but he decided to face the journey anyway. The nature around him was silent. He noticed that even the animals were feeling the heat, seeking some comfort in the shade of a tree or in the woods. He was thirsty, so took the wineskin and drank trying to quench his thirst, but the water was becoming warm too.
