The Destined Pair

“What do you mean by the destined pair?” Amanda asked, holding Jakes hand tightly. He nodded at her in reassurance, kissing her forehead softly.

Alpha Abraham smiled proudly. “It means the Moon Goddess chose you both as the next pair to rule all the kingdoms,”. He explained. “Together you’ll bring peace amongst the kingdoms. You’ll cover all the American packs. You were chosen for this before you were born” he walked around the room placing a hand on Amanda and Jakes shoulders.

“When was the last destined pair?” Amanda asked, looking around the room.

“150 years ago,” Queen Christine was shell shocked. “Your great great grandparents,” she whispered.

Abe let out a low whistle. “s**t little bro,”he grinned. “And you thought you wanted to be an Alpha,”.

“I’m still confused,” Amanda told them. She turned to her parents. “What happens now?”

Queen Christine, King Richard and Alpha Abraham looked at each other nervously.

“What happens now,” Jake bellowed. “We need to know what our destiny means!” Jake was getting frustrated. It was obvious something was being with held.

Amanda put her hand on his chest. He visibly calmed and took a deep breath.

“Amazing!” Alpha Abraham looked gleeful.

“What?” Amanda asked, unsure of what he meant.

“My brother has always had a hot head. Tantrum throwing. Tree crashing kind of temper,” Abe sniggered. “No one could ever calm him by touch,”.

“Him?” Amanda made a face pointing at Jake. “He’s a big old teddy bear,” she laughed.

Abraham laughed. “The last time he freaked out we had to sedate him before his wolf destroyed our pack house”. He informed her

Jake just shrugged as Queen Christine watched them thoughtfully.

“When did you guys meet?” She questioned.

Amanda looked sheepish. “A week ago. At school,” she winced

“Weren’t you wearing the pendent?” Queen Christine pressed.

“We felt the bond anyway,” Jake boasted, worried they would feel they rushed things. “This is real. I knew she was mine, even though the bond was suppressed,”.

“Well I’ll be damned,” queen Christine shook her head. Turning to Amanda she scolded. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Amanda blushed. “I wanted to finish school. I knew he was mine but I fought it until the other morning. “ Jake grinned at her holding her hand tightly. She touched his face getting lost in his blue eyes.

“You really are the destined pair,” Abraham stroked his white beard. “I wish your mom was still alive to see this. She would be so proud of you son,” he softened.

Jake’s eyes glazed over at the mention of his mother and Amanda linked her arm in his and and softly played with his his hand.

“So we still need an answer. What happens next?” Jake asked again, much more calmly.

“Well.. first we do an announcement. We could even do it tonight for our Kingdom, if Heather is ok with it,” Heather nodded excitedly. “So we can announce tonight. This way our Kingdom will know we need to be a united front. They will pledge allegiance to you and our kingdom. Then, we do an announcement to the West, East and southern Kingdoms. They announce to their packs. Then the coronation for you both will be just after Amanda’s 21st birthday.” Queen Christine grinned. “So lots of party’s! You’ll move into the castle and take over and rule all as the North but destined pair so King and Queen of the American Packs.”

“We will have to step up security,” king Jake was thinking thoughtfully. His eyes glazed over.

Kyle entered the room. “You called your majesty?”

“Yes Kyle, you will be officially Amanda’s full time guard,” Kyle nodded and smirked at Amanda. He basically was already. “You will also be guarding Jake.” Kyle raised a brow.

Another guard entered. “Max!” Amanda exclaimed.

Max gave her a big grin. “Hey Princess! You pops says you got yourself a man!” He joked as he came over and hugged her. He shook Jakes hand. “Nice to meet you man. I’m Maxwell but thank f**k they don’t call me that. Just call me Max,” he said eagerly.

Amanda could feel the hurt in Kyle’s eyes.

“Kyle. I’m sorry,” she linked him.

“I should’ve known,” he sighed. “The moon goddess doesn’t make mistakes. I had hoped she would see she had a pair us together. But I’m glad I can be by your side now,” he told her.

“I will always love you Kyle. Just in a different way,” she reminded him.

“I know. I love you too,” he sighed as he shut off the link.

Jake spoke up. “I’m all honesty your highness, I don’t feel I need a guard. And so long as Amanda is with me, no one will ever touch her. She is mine to love and cherish and worship as I’ve been telling her all week,” he gave her a side grin that made her heart flutter. “We will keep your guards for her if I’m not with her but I promise you sir, I will do my best to keep her safe,” Jake gave the king his word.

“Very well. Max, you’ll rotate with Kyle. Jake, if you change your mind..” he trailed off realizing Jake was serious.

“Can we make the announcement now?” Heather asked excitedly. “Our peck will be so proud to get to host this and I’m so excited for my big sis,” she hugged her sister from behind.

Jake turned to Amanda. “Well my brown eyed beauty?” He asked raising his perfect brow. “Are you ready to break every un mated male wolf’s heart?” He grinned at her, helping her to her feet.

“Does this mean you still want me after all this?” She asked him excitedly.

“Amanda. There is no reason I wouldn’t want you. I want you for the rest of my life. Only you. All this other stuff,” he gestured. “Is noise around us. This is about you and me. And I want you. I love you. You are my mate. My queen - regardless of being a Royal or not. You are the reason I breathe,” he kissed her lips, cupping her chin softly as they shared a sensual kiss.

“Ahem!” Abe cleared his throat.

Queen Christine and Luna Heather were swooning.

“Ok,” Amanda smiles brightly. “Let’s do this,”. She grinned
