Amanda sent Kyle a quick mind link letting him know she was good.
“Is anyone looking for me?” she asked nervously.
“Only every unmated male wolf around here,” he laughed in response.
“We will be out soon. We are just in his guest cottage,” she told Kyle.
“Your parents have been so busy. I don’t think they know you’re gone. I’m not far from the cottage. Be safe. I love you,” he told her.
Amanda shook her head. Kyle was getting weirder and weirder.
She thought back to that time in high school that they had dated. They had fooled around but hadn’t had s*x as he wanted to wait for her to come of age and choose him. When he turned out to not be her mate it was awkward for a bit but he told her being her guard was the next best thing.
Amanda turned to her mate. Jake.
He stared at her, brushing some hair out of her face. “You are absolutely incredible,” he told her as he fixed her part. He looked down at her necklace - the one he had purchased for her, and smiled again.
“I know I have some explaining to do,” she sighed and he nodded, still smiling.
“So as you’ve figured out - I’m Princess of the North. First born and my parents couldn’t have more children after my sister - so when I’m 21, I’m set to be Queen,” she told him nervously.
“You’re already my queen,” he whispered as he pecked her lips softly.
“I’ve always dreamt of rehabilitating rogues. Working with those experiencing homelessness and helping them find a pack and not be alone,” she whispered, waiting for him to scoff or be appalled.
“I think that’s a very noble quest,” he told her honestly, looking into her eyes.
“So that’s why I’m taking social work at the university. To be able to better for them and all the packs we oversee. But my parents didn’t want me to go to university. They’ve been prepping me to be queen since I was 8 and they found out Heather was their last child. So I could only be in school so long as I didn’t let anyone figure out who I was and wore a stupid pendent to block the mate bond,” she told him honestly.
He looked thoughtful for a moment. “Bu ti could feel it,” he told her. “The moment I saw you at the map, I could sense you. Smell your beautiful scent. But nothing like I can now.”
Amanda nodded. “It was suppressed and I’m assuming the magic wore off over time. It’s an old witches spell that my great great grandfather had been gifted by a she wolf who wanted him and his power for herself. He had no idea the spell was in the pendent until he met my great great grandmother. He treated her awful at first but during a fight she fought back and ripped the pendent from him. The spell was broken and they realized they were mates and had to take down the evil wolf,” Amanda explained her family story.
Jake laughed. “I have heard this story! It’s been passed down for decades!”
Amanda laughed. “Well now you’re part of history,” she told him smirking.
“I knew you were going to be mine,” he whispered. “I was infatuated with you with the bond suppressed. I couldn’t get enough of you. Just being near you. I needed it.” His eyes searched her face.
“I felt that too. It was you.” His lips met hers.
“Tell me about you,” she smiled. “Why have I never seen you at events before? Where have you been hiding?” She kissed his nose. “I thought I knew all the Alphas and their ranked members.”
“I’m not an Alpha. Or a ranked member.” He grinned at her.
“Oh?” She asked questionably.
He laughed. “I’m second in line to be Alpha of the Silver Moon pack of the North. My father is Alpha Abraham who never wants to retire and is like 70,” she grinned. She knew and loved Alpha Abraham. He was everyone’s grandfather. He was a kind old man. Old fashioned but ran a strong pack of 400.
“My older brother Abe is next to be Alpha. But for some reason I have the stronger aura. I’m most respected. Dad has been toying with giving the pack to me. Not because Abe won’t make a good Alpha - he will. But because I was the stronger and a better leader. Like I was destined for something else, something bigger…” he trailed off
“Like becoming King!” She gasped and exclaimed, covering her mouth in surprise.
Jakes eyes were bright and he nodded. “I didn’t get it. Until tonight. When I saw your driver walking you in after they announced the unmated Princess and I was smothered with your scent,” he grinned. “Baby - we were made for one another. The Moon Goddess has done this for a reason!” He was excited and so was she. Everything was falling into place. It all made sense.
“I’m so excited and shocked and wow!” She exclaimed.
He pulled her closer into his arms and kissed her lips. “You my mate are my everything. I will love and cherish you for as long as we live. Woah!” He suddenly exclaimed, interrupting himself. He was looking at her mark.
“What is it?” She asked nervously, but then she looked at his mark. “Woah!” She exclaimed, running her fingers over it.
The mark was of a wolf, wearing a crown. It was glowing off of his skin.
“I’ve never seen a mark like this,” she whispered, tracing it with her fingers. “Is mine the same?” She asked him.
“If you mean a glowing wolf in a tiara then yes,” he whispered. He picked her up and carried her to the washroom. They stood in the mirror together, looking at their marks. The only difference being the crown and tiara.
“Should we ask my parents? Or the elder?” She asked, her hand on her mark.
He nodded, then smirked.
“What?” She asked looking around.
“Well first off we are naked and we need to clean up and tame your hair,” he grinned at her.
This made Amanda laugh. He wasn’t wrong.
“Second. You are beautiful and I want you again. Right here. Right now,” his eyes filled with lust.
Jumping in to his arms, her lips crashing into hers as she wrapped her legs tightly around his waist. He wasted no time in slamming her up against the wall and entering her in a swift movement, holding her up with his body as he took her against the bathroom wall, as they feel deeper and deeper in love and howled in the throes of their passion.
