Chapter 4

1236 Words
Kimberly After the Alpha King paid Mrs Lyn a huge sum of money to take me, I felt the joy of freedom from her hostage and bondage. I never want to meet her again and if I was to, it would be to feed her a square portion of what she has been dishing out to me since I was nine. Now I was leaving my pack finally, from a pack that tortured my existence to the one that killed my mother. I entered the car and gauged back at the three follow-up cars that were equipped with communication systems and defensive targets for the Alpha King. He was not a simple one and I don't think it would be that easy to destroy him. I laid back a bit, The loud sirens of the cars deafened my ears to a gradation of dizziness. I unearthed a new purpose to live now, avenging my mother’s death through the man who wanted to marry me so badly. “What was his reason?” I thought inwardly. I knew it wasn't love at first sight or an inept appeal, except for the fact that our mate aligned, though the man I believed to be my mate was screwing another woman. Alvin had his reasons for taking me and I didn't care, neither would I allow anyone to hurt me nor would anything stop me from my new agenda, no matter what it took me. “She's doing just fine, Alpha King,” The hefty driver in an all-black said and glanced at me through the rearview mirror with his intercom headset intact. The Alpha King was in the first car, while I sat in the second car, I learned it was taboo to sit with the Alpha King in the same car. In an hour, we arrived at the endpoint, my soon-to-be husband's mansion. As I approached the building, its grandeur left me momentarily breathless. The tall, stately structure stood like a fortress of opulence against the sky, its fancy exterior gleaming with elaborate details and adorned designs. The massive pool out front shimmered under the sun, flanked by neatly arranged loungers and lush greenery that seemed to whisper another level of luxury. My sight had never experienced such sumptuousness, Even the Alpha, Gideon’s house could never be compared to half of what I fed my eyes in the last five minutes. As I entered, a hush fell over the space. Bodyguards and maids were meticulously lined up in a horizontal formation, their posture giving off a practised reverence. They bowed as the alpha king passed through, and I followed closely behind him, trying to absorb the scene unfolding around me. I looked up, The chandelier overhead sparkled with a million tiny lights, casting a warm glow that danced over the polished floors and richly decorated walls. My gaze swept over the surroundings, overwhelmed by the sheer scale and beauty of it all. “Mr Alvin,” I called him. He had walked far and was about to enter another room while I was admiring his house. I sprinted faster to him. Immediately I felt four hands on my shoulder trying to hold me down. “No one goes into the Alpha king's room,” one of them mouthed. “Get your hands off me,” I shouted, struggling against their heavyweight. The Alpha king looked back immediately. “Let go of her, she’s my guest and will be my Luna soon” the Alpha king ordered. They both bowed and retraced their steps back. “We’re sorry ma’am” I gave them an apology, not accepted scowl. I had suffered for years, I didn’t come here to be a victim of bullying too. “Follow me” The Alpha king skidded his left hand to his room. I obeyed immediately, smirking my face at the two men. I entered alongside the alpha. “Is there anything you would like to talk about Kimberly?” It was the first time hearing someone call my name with such intent. The thought of it kept me mute for a while. “Miss!” He snapped his finger loudly to get my attention. “Yes, I’ve got a lot to say and ask,” “The floor is yours, you have four minutes, Time is gold,” he impatiently stated. “I know you don’t like me neither am I in your league of women, so I want to know why you want to marry me and ….” “Do you look down on yourself little wolf?”He cut me off from my next statement. “Why do you want to marry me? Why should I be your Luna?” “Because you are my mate. Now tell me, did your wolf reject me when I asked you,” he walked close to me. “Yes, it did,” I lied. “You little liar, you'll discover your purpose in due course” he slightly held my chin and stared into my eyes. Matching his soft gaze, the thought of his head in my hands filled my soul. I wanted to take this man down so badly and I don’t think I can spend a minute with him without being reminded of my revenge. “Why are there bruises on your face and body?” He turned my chin to both sides and cast a detailed glance at me. “Did anyone hurt you in your former pack?” He pressed a red bell to summon some people. “Yes,” I said and withdrew myself from his touch and altered back from him. A group of ten women appeared, and they all seemed to be omegas, different from the maids I saw downstairs. Considering the ranks from their uniform. “The king of werewolves, Reigns, how may we be of service to you” they displayed in unity. He glared at me from head to toe. His maids were looking better than I was, and I felt a bit embarrassed. “My guest will need a change of style, hair, and fashion and most importantly medication” “Your wish is our command, Alpha King” I followed them out. At the threshold, a man with keyhole sunglasses walked past me with a suitcase and bodyguards behind him. I was enveloped by a faint sense of shock. “What?” I muttered. The man’s aura, the way he walked, and his side view were similar to my father, Gabriel Lyn. Even though I was not able to see his face well. “Please stop” I shouted and headed to his front. “Fath..er, is that you?” I breathed heavily with a shaky voice, as my eyelids brimmed with joyful tears. He removed his glasses to look at me. He looked healthier. “Your green eyes are still as beautiful as they used to be” I smiled and cried, with my hands in my mouth. “Miss I…” he said as I hugged him tightly without allowing him to finish. “ Where have you been? What are you doing here? I missed you Father, I missed you so much,” I pounced on him and was crying out loud. I felt his strong hands on my shoulder as he pulled me off him. “Do I know you, miss?” He looked at me strangely.
