Sioux POV
Challenged. My dad had been challenged for his Alpha title. This was really bad. I was already 21 and usually you find your mate at 18, and if you're a male of Alpha decent you automatically take over the pack, but I was an only child. It also meant I should inherit the pack and my partner become a luna for my pack, but since I was gay and only just found my mate, that was not the case. He hadn't named a successor, and from what I understood had barely even spoke about me to other Alpha's. If a new Alpha took over I may lose my entire pack, as oftentimes new Alpha's kicked out the old Alpha's surviving family. I looked into Kaia's concerned face, the fear clearly showing in my eyes.
'Don't worry little bird, tell me what's happened and we will fix it.' she said gently, taking my hand as we exited the lift. Her Beta and Gamma met us in the now empty lobby.
'My father has been challenged because he hasn't named a successor yet. He didn't tell me who by but I need to get home. I need to help him prepare and be ready to challenge if he loses.' I said.
'He hasn't named you yet?!' She asks shocked.
'No, he's ashamed to have a daughter who hadn't met her mate. I only came out to him 2 weeks ago when he tried to arrange a union with the Dark Moon pack. I have a feeling it will be their second son Tyrone. I declined the offer and it may have pissed them off. my dad wasn't too happy and has trashed his office 3 times since then.'
'Alpha if you need to go with your mate we can hold the Fort. We have taken all the steps necessary to prevent another rogue attack. The territory will be safe without you if your mate needs you.' Watson stated, I looked over at Kaia and she is looking at me asking me with her eyes to tell her what I needed. I needed her with me for this, I needed to go at my full strength, as I wasn't sure my dad could beat Tyrone if it was him. Tyrone was 21, and incredibly strong and big for his age, whereas my dad in his 50's hadn't been in the best health following a Rogue attack 3 years ago that took my mother's life.
'I don't want to impose on you Kaia, we only just met, but you are my mate, and wolves are stronger just being with their mate. I don't know if my dad can win. But I know I can. I would need to leave immediately, as its a 4 hour drive up there. 3 if I ignore the speed limits. ' I said.
'All I need is a few bits from the packhouse. I can form the rest of the plan on the way via phone with Dawson and Watson. Let's get your car and get on the road.' Kaia said decisively.
I breathed a sigh of relief. ' Your car is already out front, here's your keys.' Dawson said tossing them to me.
I smiled at him and took Kaia out the door to the R8.
'Nice car Sioux, I always wanted one of these, but the rarely let me drive alone so I don't see the point.' She chuckles. I awkwardly smile, but my mind is far away at home worrying.
Hopping in the car, she directs me towards the packhouse. Its a beautiful old Edwardian style mansion, which in normal circumstances I would have loved to explore and marvel at. Kaia opened the door and got out, 'Come on. I think there are a couple of people who will want to meet you before you whisk me off to defend your title.' She grinned through the open car door. I smiled back, realising I needed to focus on bonding with my mate if I might need her strength. I jumped out and walked round the car and took her outstretched hand. Linking fingers sending electricity through me once more. I could get used to this. As we walked up the steps, the door was flung open by a shorter, older version of Kaia, just with different eyes.
'Oh Kaia you were telling the truth! I thought you were pulling my leg! Jackson, Girls come quick!' She shouted back into the house.
'You must be Sioux! honestly I thought you weren't real, otherwise we would have met you outside. She's always playing pranks on us. I'm Kendal, Kaia's mother and former Luna of Midnight Sun.' She beams at me, pulling me in for a hug.
'It's a pleasure to meet you Luna Kendal.'
'Oh there is no need for formalities! You will be family soon enough!' She pulls us into the house and proudly announces to everyone that I am Kaias mate, the Omegas in the house all clap and cheer, and I can feel the blush creeping into my face.
'Mum, I'd love to have you show off my beautiful mate, but we are kind of in a rush to get on the road.' Kaia said gently.
'I know dear, that's why I sent Bryce to Sioux's hotel to get her things and bring them here. At least then we get to meet her before you have to leave.'
Kaia smiled fondly at her mum, when suddenly 2 more slightly smaller versions of her grabbed her and me round the middle in a group hug.
The two girls were squealing with excitement. 'My Sisters, Hope and Faith.' Kaia shouts over the noise. I laugh heartily. I had always wanted siblings of my own.
'Enough girls!' boomed a deep, masculine voice over the news. It stopped the girls in their tracks, with them suddenly letting go of us both.
'Welcome to our home Sioux, I'm Jackson, Kaia's father.' I smiled back at him, as he stuck out his hand for me to shake it.
'Hello Alpha Prior. Its a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for welcoming me here.'
'My you are a well brought up one. I've not heard anyone use the phrase Alpha Prior for years! Then again if you are from Goddesses Tears, it doesn't surprise me. They are somewhat traditional.' He chuckled. Traditional was one way to say backwards and old fashioned.
'Everyone this is Sioux, my mate. We would love to stay, but Sioux has an emergency and I really need to pack. We will come say goodbye before we leave.' Kaia said to her family, before pulling me away with her up the 3 flights of stairs to the Alpha's floor. She pulls me into her room, as I shut the door behind us she pins me to it. My back flat against the door with her body pressed against mine. I could feel her breath on my face she was so close to me. I looked into her eyes, where the desire was fighting its way out of her once more. That look would make me submit to anything.
