Light and Dark meet

As the door opened I was overpowered by the scent of coffee and caramel. Suddenly I knew the scent, I knew where I had smelt it before. Only the day before on my run at the hotel. I'm frozen in place, I see the most stunning woman I have ever seen sat at the head of the table, her Alpha aura in full blast from her chair. She had beautiful dark chesnut hair, hanging in long waves over her shoulders. A pair of grey eyes set behind beautiful long lashes. Her soft pink lips were curved into a smile. I couldn't take my eyes off of her face. Shadow is pushing to the front of my eyes, trying to push me to run and pin her, trying to push me to let my aura out to claim the one I know to be my mate. But I force her back, trying to not take any deep breaths that would cause me to inhale any more of her scent.

'Good Evening Alpha, its a pleasure to meet you.' I say politely, finally finding my voice. I notice that the beta and gamma are excitedly watching between us as if watching a tennis match.

'Good evening Miss Challenger, or should I say Delacroix?' she chuckles softly. Her voice is gentle and calming, and I just wanted to hear her say my name for all of eternity. Why did I have to meet my mate right now.

I flashed her a smile and said 'Sioux, call me Sioux Alpha. I am sorry for the name deception, you know of my father's reputation and I have no intention of being tarnished with his brush.'

'Very well Sioux. I am Alpha Kaia DeCecco, please have a seat. I am very eager to see what you have brought to me.' She smiled at me, a hint of a smirk appearing on her face as she looked me up and down as I moved to plug my laptop into the projector and sit. I was suddenly very aware of my entire body. Thank god I dressed to impress, I bent over to plug in the cables, purposefully bending to accentuate by ass, which I considered to be my biggest asset. She took the bait and looked, blushing when I caught her doing it as I stood up.

'Alpha Kaia, are you ready for me to show you what I can do for you?' I smiled innocently at her, seeing her eyes darken with lust as I said that. The Beta and Gamma barely able to control their sniggers. For the next 90 minutes I managed to focus, and stress the security features my design offered, relaying them back to the experience today at lunch, talking her through how the features in the pack house design could be retrofitted to the border points and buildings as early warning, minimising casualties and protecting the vulnerable. It was such a multi species territory I had to bring in everything I had over my years of working, designing and building relationships, and all I could do was hope that it was enough. Knowing she felt the pull to me wouldn't be enough when It came to protecting her pack.

'So Alpha Kaia, any thoughts or questions at all?' I asked, my thoughts hoping for any reason for us to continue to occupy the same space.

' I think that's all I have on your work here. Gentlemen any further questions?'

'No Alpha' they reply in unison.

'Well then, I think that's all, the only thing to discuss is costs. Would you like to see the land where we plan to build this? It would give you an idea of If you need to make any adjustments to your design, and potentially how you could do further work for the pack, if the price is right of course.' She said.

'Absolutely, and I think you will find the pricing very fair. It has already been sent to your email at the completion of the presentation. Did you want to discuss without me present before making a decision? I would love to see the spot by the way. I can't see the design needing any adjustments but I like to ensure I am very thorough.' I replied.

'If you head to the reception area, the Beta, Gamma and I will join you momentarily.' Kaia said.

'Yes Alpha Kaia, thank you.' I packed away my laptop and headed out the room. As I exit I realise I was barely breathing in there in my focus, and head towards the reception to take a seat and wait. I decide to call Ryan whilst I wait.

'Yo Sioux! How did everything go?' Ryan curiously asked.

'Amazingly well all things considered.' I reply.

'What do you mean all things considered?'

'Let's just sum it up with, my cover was blown and I found my rather unattainable mate all in the same day'

'What?!?' He shouts shocked.

'Yeah. I know. I'll fill you in when I'm home. I am waiting on the decision and seeing the potential site. With any luck you will be coming with me next time.'

'OK Sioux, I'll catch you in a couple days, enjoy your holiday! Try not to stress about the mate thing. The goddess wouldn't have paired you if she was unattainable.'

'If only you were right! Bye Ryan'

I hung up just as the 3 pack leaders reached me. Alpha Kaia stood ahead of the 2 men as they approached. I stood nervously, awaiting her decision.

'Well Sioux, it looks like we will be working much closer over the coming months. Congratulations.' She grinned, holding out her hand to shake on the deal. Without thinking I grabbed her hand to return the shake, and I felt the current run from my hand all the way to my core. Heating me up as is went. I gasped as I felt it and looked up into her Grey, lustfilled eyes. She felt it too, the mate bond. I instantly smelt her arousal too from our single touch and close proximity. Both Shadow and I only had one thought. f**k.
