The "Jewel Heist" plan kicked off at Marcus Vane's opulent Miami Beach villa. Guests in expensive evening wear mingled, their attention focused on the unveiling of a newly acquired Roman artifact.
Leila, stationed remotely, successfully breached Vane’s wireless security controller, tasked with initiating a system-wide shutdown and triggering a false alarm in the main jewelry vault. Timing was critical: the fake alert had to last for only three minutes, the exact window Kaiden needed to reach the heavily fortified server room.
The moment the alarm blared, panic erupted in the grand hall. Kaiden and Leila moved against the flow of the chaos. Kaiden, disguised as a heavily-built, uniformed security guard, moved swiftly, his initial anonymity a crucial asset.
Kaiden followed the emergency signage to the basement, where the server room was located. The door was armored and sured with a handprint scanner. Leila had previously discovered that Marcus Vane always left his fingerprint on his whiskey glass before dinner parties, and she had successfully cloned the biometric signature via the surveillance network.
"Seconds, Kaiden. Loading the override," Leila whispered into his concealed earpiece.
At that moment, two of Vane’s personal guards appeared, armed with automatic weapons. They were moving against the stream of other guards heading towards the main hall—a clear sign they were Covenant assets, not mere security staff.
Kaiden had no choice but to engage. He used close-quarters combat, relying on speed and agility over raw power, intent on avoiding gunfire that would jeopardize the mission. He neutralized the first with a pressure point strike to the neck, but the second was tougher, managing to land a blow to Kaiden’s right shoulder.
Just as the guard recovered, Kaiden heard a low hum, then the sound of the lock disengaging.
"Go! Get inside!" Leila ordered.
Kaiden ducked into the reinforced room, slamming the door shut. Two minutes and forty-five seconds had elapsed. He had barely fifteen seconds before the security system fully reactivated.
