I woke startled as my attacker brought his hand back towards himself. I was somewhere outside. I couldn't move back. My breath came out in gasps.
"Sorry for waking you."
Was he trying to attack me in my sleep? What would he do now that I was awake? He looked stronger and taller than me. If I tried to run, he could grab me before I was even off the ground. He could hurt me.
I wanted to scream, but I could barely remember how to breathe, let alone make actual sound come out of my mouth. All I knew was that I was in danger. I needed to find somewhere safe. Outside was safe. But I was outside. Nowhere was safe.
