Chapter three

"She went to sleep. She said she was feeling sleepy." She answered Kira. "I want to go to bed too." Kira said, heading upstairs." Okay, I'll be coming too". She said, standing up to follow Kira upstairs.

They walked to the room and Flossy wasn't there. "Where might she be?" Kira asked Cabelo. " Well,she said she was coming to sleep, so I don't know. Maybe she should be in the bathroom I guess."

Cabelo went to the bathroom and knocked on the door, and she was not there.

"Well, she will go to bed later when she is done with whatever she is doing or wherever she goes," Kira answered lightly, without bothering to check. She laid on the bed, covered her duvet along with Cabelo and off she went.

Kira never seemed to bother, "After all, I trust my friends". That was always her slogan. For what seemed like an hour Flossy had not returned. Where could she be?

Cabelo was worried .She laid on the bed without sleeping because she didn't feel sleepy. She only went to bed because Kira and Flossy were going to bed.

"Where could she be? Why is she taking so long? This girl is giving me mixed signals. Don't think that way" she said to herself.

She tried to force her eyes to sleep but she couldn't. She stood up from the bed and looked at Kira lying on the bed. She didn't turn or notice she got up. Kira was a deep sleeper. She left the room to check where Flossy had gone.

She walked down to the bathroom first. She opened the door but Flossy wasn't there. She moved to the parlor and she could not find her there. Cabelo finally decided to go outside and check. She didn't see her there either.

"Where might she be?" Cabelo finally resolved to go back to bed. Wherever she goes she must surely return to sleep. Cabelo moved to the bed and laid down. After what seemed like fifteen minutes, Flossy came in.

"Where did you go, girl?" Cabelo asked her. She stopped as if she was shocked to see Cabelo and Kira in the room. She had thought that Kira was going to spend the night with her boyfriend.

"You are still awake Cabelo?" She tried diverting the question. " And you are still awake Flossy, you told me you were going to bed because you felt sleepy, so where did you go?." Cabelo questioned her again, then she sat up on the bed.

All this while Kira was still asleep,she turned her body but didn't wake up. " I was on the balcony. Now, if you don't mind,I want to sleep right now". She climbed the bed and laid next to Cabelo.

"Not so fast Flossy, why did you stay so long on the balcony? I mean I looked for you. I searched for you, though I didn't get there, and then I decided to go to bed. You made me worried", Cabelo asked her, talking affectionately to her.

"No, there's no problem, Cabelo,"she replied. "Are you sure there's something you don't want to talk about? I mean, what are friends for ?"

"No there's no problem", Flossy felt Cabelo was pressuring her to answer. I mean, is she expecting any problems? Well.. That's her business. Flossy last thought and slept off.

It was morning, and Kira woke up and stretched herself. Her friends were no longer in bed. It seemed they didn't want to wake her up.

Sounds of water splashing from the bathroom could be heard. One of them was bathing.

She strolled down the hallway and entered the kitchen. Cabelo was preparing a meal as the aroma from the kitchen covered the air. " Good morning my chef ", Kira greeted Cabelo, who just turned to notice her immediately.

"Hey sleepyhead.. good morning , how was your night?" Cabelo asked. " It was okay".The two discussed while Kira helped to join in preparing the meal too.

Kira's phone beeped, it was a notification from an anonymous number. She opened it and it read," You are Lucas' girlfriend, I know you and you do not know me. Better stay clear of him. I will find you, I must get you." Kira felt scared while reading the message but it felt funny to her because it sounded like empty threats to her.

She handed over her phone to Cabelo to read" what's that?" Cabelo asked while collecting the phone. "Read it."

Cabelo read the message out loud and looked at Kira, then she handed over the phone. "Who could that be? Like who would write this and why?" Cabelo asked .

"I don't know, I mean this is serious. Have you checked up on your boyfriend today?" Cabelo asked.

"No, do you think I should show him this message too?" Kira looked tense and scared at the same time.

" I don't know if you should. I mean as much as I am concerned, I am also confused, Kira" she told her.

Kira's mind started thinking and rotating, she was left in confusion. She decided not to tell him. If the person continues to send this message she might tell him about it and report the case to the police for her safety.

"You know what? I won't tell him", Kira disclosed her decision to Cabelo. " Okay, if that's your decision, if the message continues you can tell him and maybe tell the police about it.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. I mean who the f**k threatens that way?

Another message enters again,still the anonymous message. It reads, "Better stay clear, this is not a joke". Kira's heart started palpitating.

"If this is not a joke? "Cabelo look here, another message. What should I do?"

"Just stay calm. Besides, nobody can hurt you and go scot free", Cabelo told her, patting her shoulder.

Flossy came into the kitchen. She had just finished showering. Immediately Kira saw her, she gave her

phone to Flossy giving her the message to read too.
