As Xavia and Samson began to walk she spoke saying 'I have truly missed you so much. You are just as sexy as the day the goddess gave you to me.' Samson huffed playfully saying 'I think I am supposed to say that to you, my love. I have missed you far more than you could know.' While, in the grand scheme of things, they had not been apart long. It had still felt like an eternity for both of them.
They both walked in silence for a few moments just enjoying the night air. Each thankful that they had found one another again. Finally Xavia broke the silence asking 'Were you able to block your connection?' before telling him 'I am not sure how long we will be able to remain out here. Bella is scared of someone seeing us. I have told her there is nothing to worry about. She is young, though, and still plagued by what happened when we first shifted.'
Samson still could not believe that their pack would try to kill them. He wanted nothing more than to rip every one of them limb from limb. Samson nodded yes as he replied 'Not that it would matter. He doesn't listen to me anyway.' Xavia chuckled as she said 'We will fix that. Bella and I have a way with making people understand things.' Samson asked 'So have you told her the truth about us yet?' Xavia immediately stopped walking.
Turning toward him she said 'No, it would put her in danger. Besides, do you honestly think she would believe me if I told her we were among the original wolves. She will have a hard enough time learning to control her abilities once we are baring your mark. Have you forgotten what happened with Tiye, we were nearly burned alive. I will not put another human through that.'
As they began walking again Samson sighed saying 'My love that was ancient Egypt. If I remember correctly you took over and ripped the high priest apart before he could even light the pyre. You even became a war goddess for your trouble.'
Xavia growled lowly 'Yes, well they were going to kill us before we had won the war with the vampires and I have never appreciated them worshiping me.' They continued walking as Xavia asked 'So, have you told Hanson?' He chuffed 'Not yet, I wanted to wait until we were together again. I couldn't get him to believe you existed.' Xavia chuckled again, 'Well now he does' she told him. Then he asked 'Are you going to tell her about her father's part in the coming war?'
Samson waited patiently for Xavia's response. When she hadn't responded he sighed saying 'Xavia you must tell her. She will need to be prepared otherwise it will end very badly.' Xavia lowered her head before saying 'I know but we still have at least a year. After all that we have been through in the past she deserves some happiness. Also we still need to work on the mating issue. Her nerves are killing me.' Samson gave a wolfish grin before saying 'Oh, I can handle that.' Xavia just grinned back at him.
They unblocked their links then began to run.
Bella had almost fallen asleep waiting for Xavia to reopen their connection. The minute she did Bella seethed 'Xavia, you had better not have been doing what I think you were doing.' Xavia chuckled through their connection saying ' Poor thing you would have felt it if we did. I just wanted some alone time with our mate.' Bella let out a sigh of relief. Before saying 'We should probably head home Xav. I am starving and it is getting pretty late. We may need to grab some take out'
Xavia reluctantly agreed saying 'Alright, Samson is hungry too.' They turned beginning to run back toward the clearing where they had left their clothes. Once they arrived they immediately shifted so that they could get dressed. Hanson surprised Bella by drawing her in for a passionate kiss. She surprised them both by returning it instantly with just as much passion.
When they finally separated they were both breathless. Bella smiled while looking slightly embarrassed as she said "That was my first kiss. It was absolutely worth the wait." Hanson winked returning her smile with a smirk. He gave her another quick peck before taking her hand. They made their way back to their cars holding hands the entire way.
Before Hanson let her go he drew her close simply holding her. Bella had never felt more comfortable around another person, let alone safe. Hanson spoke softly saying "You are both so beautiful. I can't fathom why anyone would try to hurt you." Then he pressed his lips softly against her forehead in a show of respect before releasing her.
Bella knew she had just lost her heart to Hanson. The moon goddess definitely knew what she was doing. As she reached her car door she looked over to him saying "I was going to get some take out from the restaurant." then she asked "What would you like?" Hanson smiled saying "What ever you get is fine but Samson will throw a fit if we have to go in." She laughed telling him "I was going to have you meet me at the house. You have the spare key, so, I'll call ahead and be right behind you."
Hanson agreed climbing into his car as she climbed into hers. He sat there until he saw her pull away before turning the key to make his way back to her house.
As Hanson drove he spoke to Samson asking 'Why did you block me out earlier?' Samson responded 'Xavia and I needed to talk privately.' Hanson became irritated asking 'What are you hiding Samson?' Samson sighed pacing back and forth inside their mind. After a few moments he replied 'I will tell you everything but you must remain calm.' Hanson already knew that was going to be unlikely just by the tone of Samson's voice. He agreed to try, though, so Samson started speaking 'First of all I would have told you sooner. You thought I was crazy.' Hanson conceded the point to him as he continued 'Xavia and I are Elder wolves. we are among the first wolves the goddess created. We were sent back because the coming war could wipe all werewolves out. Bella is the one to end it but first she will be forced to deal with her father.' Hanson was in shock it took a long moment for him to process what Samson was saying. Finally, he asked 'Does Bella know this?' knowing the answer in spite of the question. Samson sighed saying 'No, I tried getting Xavia to tell her. She is scared of the effect it would have on Bella.' Hanson had no idea how to handle this information. If he told Bella what Samson told him it might put a wedge between her and Xavia. If he didn't then she found out he hadn't it would put a wedge between them. For the first time in years Hanson was sorry he had asked.
