CHAPTER 107

1309 Words

Isabella's father's mansion. California. Two days. Two days since her father bundled her back home. Since the scandal broke. Since everything fell apart. Her room locked from outside. Curtains drawn. Guards in the hall. Her father refusing to see her. Isabella's hair messy. Tangled. Wild. Eyes bloodshot. Hadn't slept properly in days. Couldn't sleep. She paced the room, each step echoing like the ticking of a clock she couldn't stop. Back and forth, back and forth, a wild creature trapped in her own home. She kept screaming. Voice hoarse. Raw. Throat burning. "You can't do this to me, Landon! You can't leave me for her!" Her voice cracked. Breaking on his name. Always his name. She grabbed a glass vase. Heavy. Expensive. Beautiful. Smashed it against the wall.
