“You’re just upset,” The Alpha says after a few brief moments. “I won’t push you right now. But the Elders’ decisions are absolute. And you know that.”
He takes a step back, “Jacklyn will come to you soon. Don’t lay a finger on her. Am I clear?”
I just stare at him in stony silence, refusing to say anything.
I won’t accept her. There is no way in hell!
Fortunately, Jacklyn doesn’t seek me out till a few days later. I’m in the hospital at that point when she comes striding through the doors, smiling.
