My phone vibrated on my desk I looked down to see a text from Ava. 'It's been a crazy day. Let's talk tonight. I still can't believe you are ditching me to hang out with MY family.'
I smiled as I texted her back. 'Hey look at the bright side. You don’t have to see your wicked step mother.'
My phone vibrated again. 'Thank goodness for small mercies. I'm going to find out who you have a crush on. Luv ya!'
"Who is blowing your phone up? Your boyfriend?"
I looked up to see Mark standing in my office door. "Oh, uh just your sister." I smiled.
He walked in and sat down on one of the chairs across the desk. "How is she doing? Sad she's not coming home this weekend."
I nodded. "Yeah she is pretty bummed, but she has to please the boss."
"I hope he is treating her good."
