Early on the morning of Saturday, Amaya woke up feeling happy and in a good mood.
The face of the man yesterday flashed in her mind. His touch, his kiss, she misses everything.
She feels secure in his arms. His scent, his body, his arms wrapped in her waist.
She probably missed him.
"f**k! This can't be, the rules must be obeyed." Amaya gets off from the bed, fold the purple blanket, and arrange the pillows on the top part of her bed.
"Aya, get up now! I cook your favorite chocolate pancake." Emma Robinson, 44 years old. Tall, white skin with a simple and calm face called Amaya.
In a hurry, she walks towards the kitchen.
"Ma, stop it! I can cook for myself, just rest." Amaya helps her mom to sit down. (Mama is a Tagalog word which means mother.)
Amaya put the pancakes on a glass plate, pouring some chocolate syrup.
"Drink this." She's referring to her mother's maintenance. Emma Robinson needs to take it once a day to support her weakened heart.
"Aya, did you found your father?" Emma said in a low voice.
Amaya's expression became different, the smile on her face vanished like a flash. She remains quiet, vulnerable, and disappointed.
She doesn't want to talk anymore about her father who ditched them when she was only 5 years old.
"Papa, when will you come back here at our home." A 5 years old girl asked her father. It was she, it was Amaya.
Andy Robinson, an American who owns a small business. He married Emma Robinson, a Filipina.
"Soon honey. Take care of your mom and never leave her side. Do you understand?" Andy Robinson gave a silver necklace with a butterfly pendant.
"Keep this my Amaya, you will always be my baby girl. At the right time, you will understand." Andy whispered underneath his breath. He was teary-eyed holding his tears, trying not to cry.
Amaya, who's innocent and young embraced her father with full love. She thinks that his father needed to go back to the U.S just to do his job there.
"Yes Papa, I will. Mama and I love you so much. I will wait for you." Amaya smiled widely. Emma, standing behind Amaya watched her husband leaving their house. Leaving everything behind, leaving her and Amaya for good.
Amaya reminisced the heartbreaking scenario of her life. As she has grown up, as she reached the age of 21 she clearly understands that her father left them behind, with nothing, but only a pinch of hope.
"Let's us eat Ma, we're going to the hospital later." Amaya changed the topic, she doesn't want to talk about Andy Robinson.
She chopped some apple and give it to her mother sitting and looking at her back as she gets two forks.
"Aya, I'm really sorry," Emma said, lowering her head. She holds Amaya's cold hand.
"Don't say that Ma, let's eat. I borrowed fifty thousand from Sarah for your check-up." Amaya started to eat, looking at the broken window.
She looks around, she murmured that their house needs to be fixed. The roof, the ceiling, and the broken windows.
"Fifty thousand? That's too much Aya! How can we pay for that?" Emma exclaimed. Thinking of how Aya can pay all her debt.
Emma finished eating, just one piece of pancake. She lost her appetite due to overthinking and nonstop worrying.
"Calm down Ma, your heart." Amaya paused. "I can pay her, just trust me." Amaya stops eating.
"Amaya, I'll take a quick bath," Emma said, leaving Amaya clean the antique table.
She nodded, she washes the used plates and forks. "Ma, wait for me here," Amaya shouted. Running to her room and grab the white towel.
For a couple of minutes, Amaya and Emma are ready. Amaya wore a simple black shirt tucked in paired with black jeans and white rubber shoes.
On the other hand, Emma Robinson wore a simple white floral dress paired with a tanned doll shoe.
"Mrs. Robinson, I have good news for you." Doctor Maxine Reyes, a cardiologist said smiling. She's holding a white folder.
"What is it Doc.?" Amaya asked exaggeratedly. While Emma, her mother lighten up with hope.
"Mrs. Robinson, we already found a heart for the upcoming surgery. You will just need to pay 1.2 million for the operation. Don't you worry, the hospital will cover 20 % of it." Dr. Maxine explained.
She's really willing to help her patients.
"We need one million for the operation Doc. We cannot guarantee that Dr. Reyes, I don't have even a single cent!" Emma Robinson is doomed and hopeless.
One million pesos. Where they can get that money.
Amaya kept quiet, thinking of a reasonable solution. She walks back and forth of the hospital room.
"I'm sorry Mrs. Robinson, but if you can't pay at least half of the payment this 28th of February we will give the heart to another patient. " Dr. Reyes said before leaving.
Leaving them hopeless, problematic, and dismayed.
"Calling card," Amaya remembered it. This time she will do the first move and swallow her dignity and pride.

– Flashback –
One cold night of February, Amaya is staring at the starry night sky. Staring at the man who's about to leave her this lonely cold night.
"I'm sorry but let's end this. Let's end our relationship, Aya." He faced her with his usual serious expression.
A few years ago, calling her Aya sounds so sweet but now it turns cold. Full of anger, full of hatred and doesn't have any trace of love.
"Ple...please don't leave me!" Amaya Robinson kneeled, begging him to stay. "What do you want me to do? I will do it! Just... just stay with me, please." She looked down, tears flowing to the ground but the man in front of her seems to be a stone and cold-hearted.
"I'm not yet ready." The 17 years old man looked away as he said those words. He wanted to stay but the anger has eaten him up.
"You're unbelievable! We're together for almost 4 years, for pete's sake Zachary!" Amaya punched the ground as if she can hurt it or break it.
She's feeling sore, in and out. She's hopeless and tired.
"I am really sorry, Aya. Goodbye!" Zachary Brantford said with full force, without hesitation.
"No! Zachary, please just give me time." Amaya stood up hurriedly, run, and tried to stop him from walking away with her, with her life.
"You don't know anything. Just le-." Amaya stopped. "Bullshit! I said we're done, I don't want to say this but s**t. You're making me angry Aya." Zachary Brantford shouted, trying to be calm but his words were so painful for her.
"Please, Zach! No! Don't do it." She pleaded like a newborn puppy but it didn't make any sense at all.
He pushed her, accidentally she fell on the ground. She got bruises, she feels the pain. It surrounds her soul, mind, and body.
"I don't need you in my life cause you're a w***e! A f*****g slu-." With full energy, Amaya closed her eyes, stood up even she's trembling, and slapped Zachary that made him a shock and dumbfounded.
Cold winds blew up, Amaya was breathing heavily because of her undying sobs. She wanted to slap her one more, punch him, kick him but she couldn't move her body.
It's freeze like she was prisoned in an old and cold freezer.
"You will regret, Zachary Brantford for judging me." It was a simple goodbye. A revenge goodbye.
Zachary Brantford feels something strange in his chest. He loves her so damn much but they're not meant for each other.
"I love you. Goodbye, my Aya." Zachary looked up at the sky. The moon, the stars, and the clouds witnessed him crying.
He just stands there, in a quiet and cold park watching her walking away.
Zachary turns around, starting to walk oppositely. He took a few steps and stop, for the nth time he looks at Amaya's back.
"I will never forget you." He uttered with swollen eyes.
On the other hand, Amaya wanted to go back. Embrace him and apologize, but it's too late.
Zachary walked too far, she can only see his broad shoulders.
"I will never forget you." She uttered while looking at the sky.
