Ever since he got into politics, the weight of the syndicate fell squarely on my shoulder. Seven years later, there has been a significant swing in power. It was mine to control, to expand, to manipulate as I deem fit-- but always with his looming shadow over me. I picked up the glass of whiskey from my desk, swirling the amber liquid as the memory faded away. “Lena Hart,” I murmured softly to myself. Letting her name roll of my tongue.
