LENA’S POV With complete disregard for boundaries. Vincenzo kissed me. I should’ve pulled away--I wanted to pull away. My mind screamed for me to stop it, reminding me who he was. But my body betrayed me. My heart pounded in my chest like a drum roll. My breath mingled with his as he deepened the kiss, his lips becoming more and more possessive, and I let myself fall, letting him claim me. Vincenzo was an arrogant bastard. He was dangerous, and I couldn’t let my guard down so easily around him. He’s a criminal, I kept saying in my mind. God knows how many people he’s killed. And yet, here I was, seated in his lap, with his hands on my thighs, letting him pull me closer like I belonged to him. I hated how easily he got to me, how my resolve seemed to crumble whenever he touched me. B
