Chapter Nine
Several days passed before I ever left the cot room. But slowly I made it to the house on my hands and knees. Sherry was right. There was no way I could walk. My feet were swollen badly from the brutal beating that I had endured.
As I crawled into the kitchen, Sherry was right there to meet me.
“I told you that there was no possible escape, didn’t I?”
“Yes, Mistress.”
“And I told you that if you tried to escape, I’d punish you, didn’t I?”
“Yes, Mistress.”
“So you’ve got no one to blame but yourself, do you?”
“No, Mistress.”
“Good, I’m glad you understand that. I’ve always felt that the punishment should fit the crime. You know ‘an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth’ sort of thing. So you decided to run… your punishment makes sure you won’t run for quite some time
