Third-person
Getting out unscathed was a piece of cake as they were proclaimed as ‘Justice Holders’ by the awful lot of witnesses that were there. It was terribly exhausting. Having to go through all that just because of her pride. Cora breathed a sigh of relief, as she saw a shadow looming in the doorway. She called out happily and waved her bruised hand elatedly only to gain severe shock. It was him. The man from that she had met earlier.
Cora blushed a deep shade of red. His long slender legs, walked quickly towards her, his eyes looking straight in hers only. Cora tried my best to avoid immediate eye contact. Unfortunately, she couldn’t hide it from him. He saw her shifting away as he came nearer. He smirked, almost making her faint. “So……” he asked in such a thick deep voice, that her knees nearly buckled. “Do you know who she is?”
The question knocked her back to reality. It was becoming obvious who he was, and she couldn’t help but test her barely suspicious assumptions. “And, who are you to ask me?” She twirled her brown hair in her slender, fair fingers. It was a habit of old times, one that didn’t die easily.
He chuckled making her lose it. She had had about enough, when he slowly started to look straight in her blue eyes. She was glad that he was starting to loosen up when Eleanor came pouncing out.
Cora P.O.V
She stopped midway through, as she saw the close distance we were sitting at. She frowned and clenched her fists, allowing a confused look to appear on my face. It was driven off when she looked at me with those childish eyes. Something felt weird. This wasn’t like her. But it looked like I wouldn’t have a chance to ask her either.
As she jogged angrily towards, I saw the man beside me shrug with understanding. Did he know something? Was he asking about her odd behaviour rather than her identity?
Realisation covered my face like icing on the cake. As if by instinct, I grabbed her hand to erase the awkwardness between the trios. As soon as we were out of earshot, I cast a slight glance at Eleanor who, despite circumstances, seemed to have calmed down. We passed through an alley which was narrow and thick with fog.
Fog that was unusual even in such lost places. Then it struck me. Magic. The only answer. My only answer remained unanswered as my friend put her guard up quick. Even she knew something was wrong.
Out of nowhere, a shriek came trilling down on me. I covered my ears, but just at the right moment, three arrows shot right at me. Eleanor screamed, but I reacted quick. There wasn’t a moment to waste. It was pretty easy to take in I was being attacked. Another arrow shot straight at me, withholding poison.
Yup point made I thought. It had been a while since I had my blood boiling so fiercely. I grinned in, particularly to no one. That excitement was coming back, the type I hadn’t felt in a long time. It felt weird too, as if someone was watching me. Then, as if in a blink of an eye, the smoke cleared. I shook it off, then understood and let the feeling go. It wasn’t time for it to come out.
As it backed off from us, two figures came out side by side in the exact same stride. It looked familiar, but the way they were walking reminded me of someone. Then it hit me. Nah it couldn’t be. Was it? No way. It wasn’t possible. How could it be? I rubbed my eyes making sure it was no stupid illusion.
But there they were, silently smiling at me. I looked carefully making them flinch. They knew what it was. My intense gaze was indeed to be reckoned with. “Welcome, leader”. As they made the polite but familiar gesture, I knew there were no more assumptions. Tears welled from my eyes like a river, and I hugged them without any further warnings. There was no doubt. It was them all right. At first they stiffened, but soon relaxed into my delicate arms.
By the time I was at my peak sobbing, people were coming out of slums and corners to grab a piece of the scene. Gradually, I calmed down until I made sure it was really them. Mia and Noah. Our most active twins in the group.
“How…?” was all I managed to say between small weeps. “Shh, it’s okay dearest. We’re surprised too, we never thought we would see you here.” Then even I thought about it. I stopped and looked at them, regaining my composure while blushing slightly. “Well then, let’s talk.”
Both of them chuckled, noticing my expression. It wasn’t the typical me and it felt like we had just become even closer in that one minute rather than the past 20 years. “Um…” Oh s**t, I had completely forgotten about her.
“Hey, sorry I completely forgot, for a second. I think you should head back. Noah, can one of your people send her back to the nearest….” I was cut off when Eleanor quickly cleared her throat loudly and did a silent gesture to not say anything. I said, understanding her.
But there was another hint of a shock considering she had never seen this side of me. It was fine, I got looks like that most of the time. But hers was different. It was an impression of appreciation and elatedness. It sort of made me happy.
“Alright, you can tell him yourself.” She looked towards and bowed in a friendly way. When she soon disappeared in the fog, I turned and wiped the smile off. Now, it was time to get down to business.

A table was laid out with several details along with paper charts and statistics hung on the wall. Of course, I didn’t understand a word of it. Regarding these matters, the smartest were the best to deal with this stuff. I sighed, furious at my lack of ability.
“Oh darling, calm down. It’s a good thing you aren’t perfect, otherwise, we wouldn’t be here.” Mia stepped out holding two wooden mugs. Out of both of them, hot steams were coming, making her hands warm. “Coffee?” She offered.
