At this somewhat cryptic statement, Blanche rushed off toward the back of the house, face blazing. Georgia seemed to barely register that Blanche was gone, as she stuffed the last remaining cheese straws—and part of the napkin—in her mouth. Myrtle wondered if it would be worth trying to ask Georgia anything while she was in this state.
