308. 309. 310. "Are you serious?" 312. "Yes, I just heard it from his nurse." 314. 315. "What is wrong with kids these days? Who the f**k fan over a psycho?" 31-- He turned his eyes away from his recounting of the number of tiles. His head shifted towards door a little to hear the conversation better, his lips tilting upward in a smirk. "People these days, she probably wants to be his doctor Phil and hope she can undo his mind." The voice he recognized was of his own guard who most probably was talking to a male nurse. On hearing the remark, his smirk fell, so that was it. Another one of those arrogant doctors who thought they could find his undoing, open him and make him sane. Five years in this hell and they still have not learned. He was not insane, there was nothing to be undone in his mind.   He didn't hurt anyone worthy. No, he did them a favor, he freed their dark souls who were simply undeserving of living. breathing in this world. It would be devastating for such a people to live left alone walk this earth so yes, he did them a favor and himself too. Everyone got what they need, his needs were satisfied and earth became short of some filth.  He didn't notice or cared when the door opened and his doctor, Marley Brown entered and took a seat on the only chair sitting in the white blank room.  "How are you today?" She asked hesitantly. He could feel her eyes watching him, measuring him like she was waiting to catch a hope of sanity. He kept quiet and didn't even bother to spare her a glance, staring at nothing. His mind long away from the reality he no longer lived in.  "I see. Well, seeming as you are in one of your moods, I'll be quick. You have a student coming over. She just wants to ask few questions. The sooner you answer, the sooner she will leave us in peace." It was not what she said but the slight bitterness which made him turn his head to look straight in her eyes. Her usual normal eyes were a little harden today, seemed as she didn't like the presence of the student, meddling in her business. "Don't be a downer, Marley. She will get as much out of me as you did." He drawled, his lips in a mocking grin now, eyes dangerously glinting. Her eyes harden and he laughed internally. Prideful creatures these doctors were, one unsolved case could be easily rub into their face to get a kick out of it. "She will come today in evening. Try to behave." She ignored his remark and said in a cold voice which widen his grin. Without another word, she left him again in his land of insanity where he sat in peace as his demons danced on the past memories of his beautiful fantasies.  He was still sitting in the same spot when the door opened and his guard entered, mouth in a snarl and eyes glaring at him like his face was the ugliest thing he have ever seen.  "Buckle up, Wilder. They need to examine your shitty mind again." Jim snarled as he harshly chained his hands and legs. Bruce quietly let him do it while staring at the pulse on Jim's throat. How easy it will be to kill him, Jim might not be as filthy as his last victims but he wasn't a pure white one either, nobody would miss him. He definitely would not. Pushed and pulled, they took him to the visiting room, the glass wall which through the visitors spoke viewed nobody. He became more curious when he noticed two chairs on each side of a metal table in the middle of the room. Jim made him sit on the chair facing the door and tied the other end of his chains to the holdings in the ground. He was left alone but the door of the room was opened. He could see Jim standing there in impatience. Not long after, he heard voices and sounds of faint footsteps. He recognized the back of Marley who was stopped along with a lean and tall female in red hair, front of Jim. Marley left right away and Bruce noticed Jim looking at the new female from head to toe. What a pig that man was. He looked away when the red head turned to enter but didn't miss the fact how she shut the room's door on Jim's face when he tried to enter behind. A smirk made its way to Tate's face in satisfaction, a vixen they had. The seat in front of him was pushed and she took a seat. Without saying a work, she dug into her bag and start pulling something out. Bruce was expecting a notebook and pen but she only pulled a recorder out and placed it on the table. "Would you mind if I recorded our conversation?" Her silent voice made him rise his head and met her eyes. What a beautiful creature she was, skin pale as milk, hair red as fire, tied messily on the nape of her neck and eyes, like forest, green and dark. How fascinating that they were such intelligent eyes. He was trying not to like her but he was a man who respected intelligence and the girl in front of him looked anything if not. He didn't want to be interested in this new plaything because after all, it will also leave his side before he gets bored of it.  He shook his head slowly and watched as her long fingers played around with the recorded. In few minutes, she placed it in the middle of them. "Are you not afraid of me?" It was his signature question; he judged the person oppose from the answer which was given. He watched as her fingers reached behind her bare neck to rub the skin, her eyes softening and she replied as softly, "I am terrified." So maybe she was not like the other ones who always asked him why they should be afraid of him like or should they be afraid of him. Noticing her calculated eyes which seem anything but afraid, he moved his eyes to her throat, he could see the pulse racing there. Feel it in his blood, the racing of her nerves was made him satisfied. She wasn't lying. "You send the guard away." He stated still staring at her racing pulse, it was making his blood boil. "He creeped me out." She replied easily, leaning back to get comfortable on the metal chair. "How amusing, you would rather be alone with a psychopath then a creep." His voice dry as his eyes travel back up to meet hers. "Everyone have a different point of few, I suppose." She answered slowly, like she was unsure of her answer. He leaned forward so suddenly that she should have been surprised but she wasn't. Yes, he noticed the jump in her pulse, felt it's burn him all the way to his bones but no reaction came on her face, just a slight widening of eyes. If his hands were free, he would have twisted the loose red strand around his fingers, they looked inviting and she smelled delicious. "What is your thought about it?" He asked quietly, staring at the dark green globes which had gold in them, twinkling in the faint light of the cold room. "Death doesn't bother me as much as being harassed does. I would rather be killed slowly then be touched in an unwanted way." Her voice wasn't matching speed of her nerves. He tilted his head in curiosity as she seemed unaffected by the proximity now, she only surprised when he has leaned forward suddenly. "You are afraid of s*x, then?" He asked bluntly, leaning back. Her scent was heating his blood. "No." She said while slowly shaking her head and continued, "I think maybe my self-respect is more important than my life." He still seemed unsure, he was sure she was uncomfortable talking about herself, voicing her thoughts, the way she saw the world. "Death doesn't scare you?" He asked. "No, it's the second most natural thing in the world. It comes when it wants to, being scared of something which is not in your own hands seems ridiculous." For the first time her answer seemed firm, sure but he could bet it wasn't because she was suddenly relaxed around him but because the answer was something, she believed him. Pity, her discomfort was going to stay for a while now, she has raised his curiosity. "But it can be prevented." "Can it be?" She asked, her lips rising in a ghost of smile. "I can kill you now, with no one to protect you. No one to save you." "Aye, but I might drop dead by a heart attack with the guard here too. Death finds an excuse on its time." Her answer made his lips twitch. "What do you want from me?" He asked, changing the subject. He still didn't trust her, in past they have send many who tried all kind of ways for him to open up, to let them peak in his mind but his mind was a dangerous place to be. She might seem honest but then most of them were too. True, she has raised his curiosity a little differently but everyone did in first few days. Yes, maybe she raised it a little too much but the end was always the same, he would get away with answers and his entertainment and they leave empty handed. He had no answers to give. What he had was already taken from him, giving him no way out of those four white walls which hurt his mind further into insanity.  "I want to know how your mind works, same as many others before me did." She said with a small shrug, her eyes not dropping from his. "Ah, my undoing." "Not really you’re undoing. My subject is psychopaths in general. My research is on a mind of someone like you." It was ridiculous to feel offended but he did. She wasn't interested in him as individual but to learn about him, she wanted to understand others like him. Other's like his hunger. He was a man who took pleasure and pride in what he did and there she was sitting there, telling him she wasn't there for him. "I'm sure you could have found a better test subject then me." His voice came out hard, eyes almost staring at her in silent fury. How absurd to be offend when a few minutes ago he was dancing in the amusement of remembering the disappointed face of the past examiners. But could anyone blame him for enjoying the attention. He loved that those monkeys in white coats would twist to his every word, turn to his every action like fools attached with strings. He made them believe his insane mind, raise their curiosity and then drop they hopes to the pits.  "You were the only one with sane enough mind." He stilled for only a second. Nobody had ever described his mind sane, not even before he start satisfying his needs. "That is a first." He said slowly, the offence forgotten. She smiled slightly, eyes brightening and explained, "I don't categories minds like others do. You are sane, you understand the worlds coming out of my mouth, you can think, you can speak the thoughts, make them understand. Sane enough for me." "The other..." He trailed off, wanting to listen to her speak further on the subject. It seems like as long as it wasn't about herself, she could converse normally.  "Most of them are too heavily sedated. We can say their devils have fully taken possession of their body. Their human has gone crazy, unable to understand anything. There was a woman who was almost as sane as you but two things stopped me; first, she was a female and honestly woman are bitches and second, my topic seemed to fit more in for a man." Again, his lips twitched. "I think you lots considered us already possessed by the devil." Her face turned thoughtful as she nodded slowly and said, "In a metaphor. But I think, metaphorically of course that it lives there, possessing only when it needs to break free, when it gets too much yet it doesn't just come as it please but is part of your mind, you can't differentiate it from your human. Those others didn't have a strong enough mind and the devil broke free." "And me? You think I am sane because I can control it." "No, I don't think you have a devil inside on you. It's not a part of you but rather you and devil are one being, not coexisting but as an individual. No offence." Again, he was surprised by her blunt reply but he was flattered and for the third time, his lips twitched. "You believe I am the devil." He stated. And here he thought he was a charmer. She was flattering him without even knowing and yes, he was charmed. "What is your name?" He asked. "Oh, sorry. Iliac Bethel." A sheepish smile appeared on her face, what a pretty thing it was too. "Well, Miss Bethel. What exactly is your research about?" "Your emotional level, of course. I need to understand why is that you not feel empathy when you can feel anger, lust or even offence." He narrowed his eyes, so she noticed that. She was being cheeky now. "You actually think I can help you with that?" "No, I am going to figure that all by myself. I just need company of a mind like yours." "How will that help?" "I need to the answer of why, I will figure it out and anyway, it's not exactly hitting it on the point. I just need to be close enough." He saw her eyes move away from him for the first time since she have entered into the room, they were on something behind him. "Who is it?" "Dr. Brown." She stated, her eyes refuse to move back to his as she stared at Marley like she was watching a fool dance in a middle of a crowd.  "You don't like her." "Oh no, I like her as much as she likes me". "Because women are such bitches?" "Exactly." She replied and her eyes moved back to his again, the fascination returning. "You seem to be really against woman seeing at you are one." She scrunched her nose lightly as if he has reminded her something she didn't wanted to. Her fingers again rose to rub her neck. "You have OCD?" She changed the subject. "No." "Like animals?" "They can be entertaining." "To kill or to keep?" "I don't kill animals." "Just humans?" "Just humans." Because only humans were capable of wrongs which are so unforgiving at times that it would make one wonder.  "You have a clean hand." She pointed out and he was yet again flattered even if he knew his hand wasn't exactly clean. His kills were impulsive, messy, almost unconscious.  "I don't like mess." He said, eyes dancing in amusement at her sarcasm.  "Aye because killing is such a clean job." "It can be." "You can snap their neck. Less messy." "I'll keep that in mind the next time." "You talk like that will be soon." "I have someone in mind." "Your guard?" "Maybe." "Make it painful, maybe use a butter knife." He laughed. He couldn't help it. And they told him he needs help. He watched as her lips moved into a crook smile as she watched him with those beautiful clear eyes which held such wonders within them. She was a fascinating creature after all. Maybe this one would last longer than the rest.  Maybe this one would actually help his insane mind.
