At the entrance, I stopped, hiding back in the shadows, peering through the glass for any signs of a guard or even the men in white jackets. I struck out! No one was in there except the caged freaks. When I entered, I instantly scrunched my nose. I’d forgotten about the chemical smell that nearly knocked me on my backside. It reminded me of formaldehyde and alcohol. Whatever it was, it stung my eyes. I cuffed my sleeve over my nose and mouth. Not that it did much good. I hated this damn iceberg. I desperately wanted to set this place ablaze and put an end to this terrible nightmare. I wished I had it easy like Dorthy. Just click my heels and I’d wake up in my own bed! I laughed.
