I wake a little while later, thankful Luna is still in my arms. Not so thankful, however, when I open my eyes and see Daddy sitting in a chair at the foot of our bed. The chair once Jonathan inhabited. It pleases me to see his neck is chafed raw, thanks to me almost choking the life from him. Too bad I didn’t succeed. Slipping out of bed quietly, I make sure the blanket covers Luna because I don’t want this asshole looking at her. I put on some jeans and leave the room, assuming he’ll follow. When I hear his footsteps, I take the stairs carefully because, thanks to Daddy punching me in the knee, I’m hobbling like an invalid.
