Elena Today is a good day. I’m finally having a relatively not-so-bad day. As I close my locker at school and grab my books, I head to English Lit. Walking the halls, I ignore the stares and the whispers. They have sort of become a normal background noise now. I’ve accepted that this town and my peers have to come up with their own conclusions on how I am doing. They simply have nothing better to do. Things have been different since Mike isn’t in school anymore; it’s not necessarily a bad or good thing. The gossip is that Mike dropped out of school, which isn’t too far off, I suppose.
