We walked through the forest slowly, he tried to hold my hand while we walked but something just didn't feel right. I was trying to remember, I could picture my room, my bed, my window out looking the forest. I could see people but their faces were blurry, but what I remembered the most was a feeling. The feeling of being alone, the feeling of being lonely. I looked up from the ground and looked at the back of his head. This man, if we are suppose to be in love then why did I only remember being lonely?
I opened my mouth to ask him, but I stopped myself. He seemed nice, but I got this feeling like I didn't really know him. I focused back on the trail we were walking along, we had been walking for a while now and I was starting to get a little cold. I wrapped my arms around myself for warmth as we continued walking. I caught him looking back at me a few times, he walked about 5 feet in front of me and would slow down his pace if he noticed I was falling behind.
He tried to start a conversation a few times while we walked, asking about my head, or my leg, asking if I wanted him to carry me. I wanted to ask him questions too, but my head was so fuzzy I didn't know how to began, I was trying to remember anything. My head was pounding now and I don't think that was helping me. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath "How much further?" I asked softly, He stopped and turned around to face me "About 2 more miles" he answered but he didn't look at me. He kept turning his head and sniffing the air, his eyebrows were pulled together and he looked a little worried.
"I need to sit down" I said sitting right where I had been standing, my ankle was really starting to hurt and my vision was starting to get blurry from the headache I had. He rushed to my side and tried to lift me into his arms "We can't stay here" he said in a slightly panicked tone. I pushed his hands away, "I just need to rest a little bit, just let me sit here for a little bit okay" I was rubbing my eyes as I spoke.
My head was really starting to pound, it seemed like stopping was making it worse, but my ankle wouldn't let me keep walking. He tried to pick me up again but I pushed him away "Alora we can not stop here, its not safe we have to go!" his voice was more demanding this time, but I still had an uneasy feeling about him. "Just give me a few minutes, please" I said scooting myself back from him.
I grabbed my head and almost screamed as a sudden rush of pain hit me, I leaned over and closed my eyes. "What's happening" I cried softly . "ALORA WE HAVE TO GO NOW!" He growled softly I quickly looked up at him, he looked really scared, but it wasn't for me, whatever he was scared of was getting closer and the closer it got the more distance he put between us. "I can't move so just leave me and go" he looked at me as I spoke, his face was a mix between anger and panic. He opened his mouth to speak but the sound of a howl in the distance made him stop, he looked down at me and then turned on his heels and ran.
I didn't understand but I could barely think, my head was pounding, the pain was getting worse. I closed my eyes and tried to breath but even that was getting harder to do. I heard another howl, it was closer this time. Was that what he was scared of wolves? I didn't know why, but the thought of wolves didn't scare me, it actually calmed me down a little bit. The howls kept getting closer and the closer they got the more the pain seemed to increase.
The pressure was too much to bare, I laid on my side in the middle of the trail and curled into a ball, I just wanted this pain to stop. I didn't hear them till they were right in front of me, I opened my eyes and saw a pack of wolves running at me. I closed them and braced myself, but nothing happened. I opened my eyes again to see a set of legs walking toward me, the pain and pressure got 100 times worse as they got closer.
I could feel the tears running down my face, I was shaking from the pain "Please" I said softly "Please just make the pain stop" I begged. I could barely hear anything over the pounding in my ears, but who ever spoke I heard their words clearly "Beau, Galen come" I could hear footsteps and I opened my eyes and tried to focus but the pain was too much. I saw the outline of a large body walking towered me, they leaned down and I tried to focus on their face but it was all just a blur. I felt a hand touch my arm, they stayed like that for a moment then stood up and walked away.
Another body started walking closer, I tried to keep my eyes open but the pain was too much "Please" I begged softly putting my arms out trying to make them stop. The closer they got the more unbearable the pain was, I started crying harder and tried to wave my arms to keep them back. But that backfired when I felt them grab my hand in theirs, and with that one touch the pain was excruciating. I screamed with everything I had and then blackness.
I woke up in someones arms, the pain in my head was basically gone, it was just a slight nagging headache now. Who ever was holding me was walking, I bounced slightly with each step they took, I opened my eyes slightly but all I could see was a very broad, very bare chest. I moved my head and tried to look at the face of the man who was carrying me. Just as I looked up at him he looked down at me and smiled, his eyes were a beautiful green, and his long red hair shined in the sun.
I smiled softly back at him, He looked familiar, but I couldn't place him. "Who are you?" I asked. His smile faded and he stopped walking. "Alpha" his voice bellowed as he look into my eyes, I heard movement coming from in front of us, I turned my head just in time to see a older man walk up, he had salt and pepper hair and a stoic look on his face. "What is is Galen?" He asked his tone was short and harsh.
"She doesn't recognize me, Alpha. Is that normal?" His voice sounded a little worried, I looked up at the man holding me, his eyebrows were pulled together, I didn't like the look of worry on his face. I looked back at the older man he had called 'Alpha' and he was staring at me.
"What is your name?" The older man asked. I stopped and thought, "The man who left me in the woods said my name was Alora" I said. I could feel the man holding me growl, I looked up at his face and he was almost snarling. Another question from the older man brought my attention back "What man? Did he tell you his name?" I looked back and frowned at the older man "He said his name was Henrik, he told me we were in love, but I don't think someone who loved me would have left me alone in the woods."
He nodded and then stepped around the man holding me and in a very demanding voice said "Find him" I heard movement and tried to look but I caught his eyes looking at me, I smiled at him and raised my hand to touch his face. "I don't like the look of worry on your face, everything will okay" I spoke the words softly so he was the only on that heard them. He closed his eyes as he leaned into my hand, when his eyes opened they were different, the worried look was gone and was replaced with a look of wanting.
"Now that I have you, I know they will be Little Luna" he spoke in a husky voice, and the way his eyes looked at me as he spoke made me blush, he turned his face and kissed the palm of my hand before I pulled it away. I leaned up and kissed his cheek, he turned quickly and looked into my eyes "Thank you for carrying me, I don't know why, but you make me feel safe." I took a shaky breath before whispering "Galen." his eyes burned with wanting, my stomach was in knots and I could only seem to breath in slow quick bursts.
I finally broke the eye contact and laid my head back on his chest, I needed to try and hide the bright red that I was sure my face now was. I felt his chest move as he laughed, it felt so familiar, I placed my hand on his chest and said "I have felt this before, you feel so familiar" he looked down and met my eyes, he opened his mouth to speak but the older man walked back in front of us, "The pack will find him soon, Galen come we need get her back home and get her injuries looked at" As the older man spoke I felt Galen's body stiffen "Yes Alpha" He said emotionless and then began walking again.
