“Elaine, let’s go to the river!” Isaura cried.
I laughed. “Mom said we can’t swim.”
“I don’t want to swim. I want to play with the fish.”
“Lake Borren doesn’t have any fish. It has monsters,” Azaire said, appearing beside me.
Isaura gasped, her beautiful blue eyes widening with wonder and then she burst into a fit of giggles. “I want to see the monsters!”
Azaire chuckled. “That’s a first.”
