"...am I dead?" I thought to myself as I felt everything stopping. I slowly opened my eyes and found myself outside...in the desert? I stared around at the vast desert despite there being only sand and nothing else I recognised this place. I loved this place too much, how could I not recognise the sands of Egypt? The sands that I'd explored all my life and tried to uncover the secrets of this place. I don't know exactly where in Egypt I was but it's good enough that I know which country I'm in. I looked around and found a man riding a camel, he seemed to be coming towards me. Seconds later he was right infront of me and he spoke. "■■■■" ....what. I didn't understand a single thing he said so I just stared in confusion. He seemed to be speaking some foreign language that I didn't know, it sounded beautiful though, music to my ears and it made me joyful.
The man kept speaking, I wished he wouldn't stop however few minutes later he stopped, I think he realised I don't understand. He offered his hand and spoke "Masr"...that I understood, as Egypt has always been called "Masr" even during the time of the pharohs. As I got up from the sand, he stared at my clothing with confusion, I was confused to why he was looking but then my brain clicked and I understood what was happening, if I'm in Egypt and this man is speaking in a foreign language yet he looks Egyptian, not to mention he stared at my clothing with confusion...I time traveled to the past?! Now I obviously wouldn't think this true however I'm not a dumb heroine in those fiction movies that take too long to realise.
I took the man's hand and nodded "Masr" I think he was asking if I wanna go to the capital or he was telling me I'm in Egypt. The man pointed to himself and spoke "Qareh" , I quickly understood that he meant that's his name. "Qareh?" I said as I pointed at him, he nodded. I pointed to myself and spoke "Annie" , he looked confused, I pretty sure it felt foreign to him, despite that, he pointed to the camel and then to himself and me, I think he's gonna give me a ride. He got on the camel and so did I , and it started moving.
