Chapter-03

Next day,

I reach outside my office early in the morning.

We will start our trip from here.

We are going to some beachside resort according to Sid.

“So ready for the trip?” He asks excitedly, seeing me walking toward him.

“Yes,” I reply monotonously.

“Come on Nyla. At least show some excitement. We are not taking you with force.” He whines.

“How will I show excitement jumping like a child?” I say in an irritated tone.

“Whatever. You will always remain grumpy. It’s useless to say you something.” He leaves stomping like a child and I sigh.

When will he understand not everyone remains a kid all their life?

And I don’t want to remain immature like him.

“Sid, tell me beforehand. Are you going to tease me all over the trip like this? Then I am not going.” I warn him.

It’s me, if they can’t bear with that then I should move back.

“No, no, I will not tease you. Just don’t spoil your mood,” he says and I compose my mood.

“Thanks. Now can we leave? I am excited to go there.” I say, smiling.

“OK, let’s leave. All are here.” He says excitedly.

“You told me one of your friends is coming!” I ask seeing only we three are there.

“Yes. He will join us there. We are going to stay in his resort. And Ruby and Jasmine will join us there too.” He says and I nod.

Ruby and Jasmine are our colleagues and couple.

They were transferred to another branch and live on the other side of town.

But we used to be a group so Sid ask them to join us.

“Oh. Then let’s go.” I sit in the back seat of the car with Tina.

All the way we sing to enjoy our journey

“You know I heard that yesterday Julia broke up with her boyfriend,” Sid says and I sigh.

Here comes our gossip king with his bag of gossips.

“Really?” Tina asks excitedly.

“Yes,” he replies.

“Good for her. He was cheating for a long time. I often see him with various girls.” she says, frowning.

I look at her with a shocked expression but keep silent.

“I don’t know why she was still with him. I heard she caught him cheating.” He says.

“Yes. I also heard that, but then he convinced her it was a misunderstanding.” She says. “How can the girls be so fooled? How can someone see his partner in bed with someone and don’t believe he is cheating?” He sighs.

He is right. How can someone tolerate that?

I remember when I found John cheating on me.

“FROM WHEN ARE YOU CHEATING WITH ME?” I was hurt seeing them together.

“NYLA. WHEN DID I TELL YOU I LOVE YOU? I ALWAYS LOVED CHLOE. SO IT’S NOT CHEATING.” He says raising his voice, but I was beyond shocked by his revelation.

“OH REALLY. CHLOE YOU KNEW EVERYTHING RIGHT? I LOVE HIM. BUT YOU STILL DO THIS WITH ME!” I asked her

“NYLA. I ALSO LOVE HIM,” she replies.

“NYLA DON’T BLAME HER. WE ARE IN LOVE AND I ALWAYS REGARD YOU AS FRIEND ONLY,” And I was the fool who was building a castle in the air.

“Nyla. where are you lost?” Tina asks shaking me and I come back to reality.

“Nowhere,” I say with a smile.

“We were talking about Julia. You listened?” she asks

“yes.” I reply with a short answer.

“So as I was saying she throws him out of the apartment n***d,” Sid says and we laugh.

“Of course. It was her apartment, and he dared to do all these nasty things there. How can she tolerate him?” Tina says angrily.

“But think n***d. I just think about how it would have looked.” He says still laughing.

“I would have enjoyed the scenes if I was there,” Tina says joining him.

“All men are dogs. They deserve this.” I say, and they look at me abnormally.

“Hey, not all men are the same.” Sid objects, but I snicker.

“I have seen none man loyal to his partner. Wherever they found a girl, their d**k just slip off their pant.” I say in a bitter mood.

“Can’t you see me? I am married for 3 years and in a relationship with her from college. I never cheated on her.” He says offended.

“Really. But from when you are a man?” We laugh together.

“Nyla. Do you forget I am your boss?” he says in a threatening tone.

“No. But the fact is a fact.” I say and Tina laughs at my word.

“Maybe I should be a strict boss.” I chuckle hearing his words and he shakes his head.

After gossiping about some other topics, we reach the resort.

They welcome us with a welcome drink made with a mixture of fruit juice.

The resort is filled with a lot of coconut trees and the rooms are like a hut.

It looks like we are living in between forests. But when you will enter the room, you will see it is a high-end resort.

The rooms are vast, and the bathroom has both a Jacuzzi and a bathtub.

The bathroom can be said larger than the room. In each room, there is a balcony with a sitting arrangement facing the sea.

After our room is given to us, Sid left to find where is his friend.

I was sharing a room with Tina.

Sid will share a room with his friend.

Sid first proposed to give us our separate room.

But we told him we will share rooms as we are on a trip and it will be boring to live alone. After we sorted our room, we get ready for the beach.

I changed into a not-so-short bikini and wrap a thin robe above that.

When we come out, Sid was already there with a man, maybe his friend.

He was wearing a button-down thin floral white shirt with white pants Sid also change like him

“Hey, girls meet my friend Rehan.” He introduces the man.

“Hi everyone,” Rehan says and we also greet back.

“Hi,” we say together.

Ruby and jasmine also joined us there.

“Rehan this is Ruby, Jasmine, Tina, and my all-time favorite friend Nyla and all-time single as well.” I slap him on the arm.

Why can’t he move on from this topic?

“Hello, Rehan.” I greet him and he nods with a smile.

“Why you slap me. If something happened to me, you will be responsible for my death.” He says dramatically, and I roll my eyes.

“Then I would like to kill you now than tolerating you the entire trip,” I hold his neck in a choking manner.

“No, you can’t do that. You know I have my wife waiting for me. What will happen to her if I died.” He moves away afraid.

“Then I should postpone your death. But if your wife agreed, then I will kill you. Deal?” I ask, raising my brow.

“That day will never come.” He says.

“Who knows!” I say with a smirk.

“OK. Now girls go enjoy on a beach we will meet her at lunchtime,” he says and leaves with his friend.

“OK..” all cheered excitedly and run toward the beach. We play volleyball on the beach then they went swimming.

After some time, I sit on the bench and started reading a book.

While I was reading a book, I see someone familiar.

No, I don’t want this person anywhere near me. At least not here.

When I tried to look carefully, Tina come and block the way.

“Nyla what are you doing here alone. Come and join us.” She holds my hand and tries to pull me up.

“Tina...” I try to deny but she cuts me.

“No, I am not listening.” She pulls me toward the beach.

“In-office you remain alone. We say nothing. But here you cannot sit alone. So forget it.” She says and makes me walk toward the beach.

“I was just sunbathing,” I groan.

“No, come swim with us. It is more fun there.” She says in an excited voice.

“OK, let’s go,” I say and join them there. We swim till lunchtime, then return to our room. After we change, we went to have lunch.
