Chapter-04

During lunch, we ordered seafood as we are near the beach.

But my mind was lost in what I saw.

It can’t be him right.

Why will he come here from all the resorts? Then I remember something.

“I LOVE BEACHES,” I said when we are walking near the water and waves are hitting our feet.

“ME TOO.” He said, holding my hand and giving a kiss on the back of my hand.

“WHEN I WILL MARRY I WANT TO GO TO BEACHES FOR OUR HOLIDAY,” I said and lean on him.

“I ALSO WILL LOVE THAT,” he said.

I thought we would get married and walk like that again.

But who thought that he saw those dreams with Chloe.

That was a long time ago, and he had married for a long time. If he will come, he will come with Chloe, right?

“Nyla. Where are you lost? From morning I am noticing, You are lost in somewhere. You are searching for someone. Who is he?” Tina asks in a teasing tone.

“Really. Do you find someone here Nyla?” Sid asks excitedly.

“OH shut up. I didn’t find someone. I maybe saw someone known. That’s why I was searching.” I say and they sit back silently.

“Do you want to find the person?” It was Rehan who asks the question.

“Maybe I can help you. Here, all the resorts are mine. We can search the guest list.” He adds.

“Is he someone special?” Tina asks again.

“NO. Neither he is special and nor do I want to find him.” I snap and get up from the table and leave for my room.

After I enter my room, I locked the door and sit on the edge of the bed. “No, he can’t be here right. I don’t want to see him. I don’t want to feel those pain again. Please, no.” I mutter to myself.

Suddenly, my phone rings. "Hello," I say, receiving the call.

“Hello, girl. How is your trip?” Lily asks with an excited tone.

“Fine,” I say sadly

“What happened? Why do you sound sad? Are you not enjoying it?” She asks concerned.

“Lily I think I... I saw him.” I say.

“Who?” she asks back.

“John,” I say and there was silence for some time.

“That jerk. What is he doing there?” She curses with an angry voice.

“I don’t know. I just saw a glimpse. Maybe I have mistaken.” I say and she calms down.

“Maybe. Let me find out if he is there or not. And don’t spoil your mood for that jerk.” She suggests, and I nod.

“I also don’t want to....” I try to say, but she cuts me off.

“I don’t want to hear anything. Just cheer up and go to enjoy with others.” She says cut the call.

Rehan’s P.O.V.

We were sitting in our room and Sid was nagging me why I look lost.

“Nyla. Yes, she is the girl.” I say to Sid and he looks at me with a mischievous smile.

“Do you like her?” He asks cautiously.

“Yes. I don’t know why, but when I saw her it’s like time has stopped. I never felt like this you know that.” I say and she nods. But she looks abnormal.

Because if it will be another time he will try his best to act as a cupid.

“Yes, I know. But I can’t tell you whether she will respond to you. She is working in my office for five years. I never see her with any boys. I first thought she is hiding her boyfriend. But I know she has never been in a relationship in these five years.” He says, and I don’t know why he is acting like this.

It’s a good thing, right?

But then I understand it’s abnormal.

“Really?” I ask surprised. I mean who will be single for five years nowadays.

“Yes. I don’t know why she ran from boys. As long as he is a friend, she is fine. But when will anyone approach her, she will run like plague.” He says.

“Why?” I wanted to know what is her problem.

“I don’t know. She is a closed book. You can never open that. I know one of her friends. You know James right?” he asks.

“Yes. Our batchmate?” I know him. We used to play football together.

“Yes. Her girlfriend and she may be childhood friends and she only remains herself around her. Otherwise, you will never see her smiling openly or talking a lot. If I would not have seen her together, I would have thought she is the silent type.” He says and I become tense.

“Is she on girls?” I ask him.

“No. But I think there is something I don’t know what but maybe something happened to her and she is afraid of commitment or has some family issues.” He says, and I want to know that.

“Maybe,” I say and drop the topic for now.

At lunchtime, I was constantly watching lily, and she was lost somewhere Tina try to cheer her mood

I tried to help her with whom she is searching, but she snapped and leave the table

“What did I say wrong?” Tina asks anxiously.

“No, maybe she is disturbed by something,” Sid try to console her

“I know. That’s why I try to cheer her mood. I never saw her this lost. I know something is bugging her. I should see her.” she gets up.

“No. Let her be. I will text lily. Maybe she knows.” Sid stops her.

“Yes. She will talk to her. You should do that.” Tina says and sits to eat.

But I know she lost her appetite.

After some time, Sid’s phone rang.

“Hello, what happened.?” Sid asks.

“OK, I will try to find out. But who is he.” He asks and I look at him cautiously.

“OK... I will let you know as soon as possible.” He hangs up the phone.

“What happened?” I ask, and I don’t know why I was having a bad premonition.

“Don’t know. Lily called.” he was thinking something.

“What did she say?” I ask.

“She said to look for someone and if he is here she told me to keep her away from Nyla,” he says and I know where it is going?

“Who?” I ask again

“Someone named John” Who is this John and how he is related to her?

“Who is he?” I want to know.

“Don’t know.” But I want to know. “OK, let’s go after lunch,” It’s easy to find someone if he is living in my resort.

After lunch, we went to my office and tell my secretary to bring the file of the guest list

“What is his full name, John Gilbert.” He says after thinking for some time.

But after searching we couldn’t find anyone.

“There is no John here,” He said, keeping the file aside.

“But there is a Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert. No full name,” I say and show him the name.

“look at the credit card details,” he says and I check in my laptop.

“It’s on Chloe Gilbert.” Who let the female partner pay for their vacation?

“I don’t know who is this Chloe Gilbert. let me call Lily.” Sid says and takes his phone to call her.

“Keep it on speaker,” I say, and he nods. After ringing Lily receives the call immediately.

“Do you find him?” She asks quickly.

“No. But there is a Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert.” Sid says.

“What is their first name?” her voice is shaking.

“No, first name. But the credit card details show Chloe Gilbert.” Sid replies.

“s**t. What are they doing there? I am coming there. Send me the address.” She curses.

“OK. But what happened?” Sid asks.

“I will tell you later. Just don’t let them meet.” She says and cuts the call.

After that call, we leave to find Nyla.

I find Tina and Nyla standing there and start to walk toward them.

Before we reach there a couple approach them.

“Hey, Nyla. Long time no see.” The female partner is wearing very heavy makeup which is sore for the eyes.

Nyla turns and from her expression, I can say she is not good."

“Hi.” her voice trembles and see her clench her fist.

“Why are you here?” That lady asks.

“Office trip.” She replies.

“Oh. I and Chloe come here for our fifth anniversary.” The man says.

“Congratulation,” she says and closes her eyes.

Before they can talk more, Sid intervenes.

“Where is your mobile Nyla,” Sid asks and she looks at him.

Her eyes are red and I know she will cry anytime.

“In-room.” She says.

“Lily is calling you.” He says and she nods.

“OK. I will leave. John, nice to meet you.” She says, but her face is pale.

“See you again.” He says but Nyla leaves without talking.

“Why do you need to talk with her? Don’t you see how arrogant she is?” The girl says while leaving the place.

“Chloe. How can you say that? You were best friends. You know how is she..” he says and I know there is a lot of drama going on between them.

I want them to unfold. I want to know why Nyla and Lily acting abnormally.
