In the 1950s the parents of a Kansas State student known only as "Nick" supposedly perished in an automobile accident on their way to see their son play a football game in the stadium. Meanwhile, Nick was on the receiving end of a brutal tackle during the game and died from his injuries in the stadium's refectory.
