I left the throne room early that evening because I didn't have it in me to go a full day without speaking to Amunet.
She has made a foolish mistake and it was about time that I talked to her about it.
To be honest, I didn’t think that she had simply made a foolish mistake. I had a feeling that there was more going on here.
Amunet wasn't that careless. She wouldn't just up and leave, knowing it would worry us if she came home late.
Plus there was that horse. She said she got it from the stable but it wasn't a royal horse.
And I knew when my daughter was lying to me.
But I just couldn't figure out her reasons. Why was she lying to me? That was what I didn't understand.
When I got to Amunet's room, I walked right in.
She was lying on her bed, looking as miserable as I expected her to
