Expelled (1)

Quin Qi immediately shifted his gaze from the elders toward the giant iron door. He was shocked to see a figure in the sky flying toward the awakening hall. The figure slowly descended and landed on the red carpet. The figure wore a white hooded cloak with a black Taurus head on the back. There were also golden patterns all over the hooded cloak, like veins. However, when the figure landed, it immediately removed the hooded cloak. The ring on his right hand shone, and the hooded cloak disappeared. It was an old man. He had an emotionless face, giving off a serious vibe. He nodded to the bowed elders, and they raised their heads. His gaze then shifted to Qin Zhiyou. "Raise! We shall overlook your mistake today." Qin Zhiyou raised. However, although the patriarch forgave him, he still felt a little uneasy in his heart. Therefore, he had his eyes fixed on the elder he previously attacked as if asking for forgiveness. The elder noticed it. With a gentle smile on his face and closed eyes, he nodded at him. Qin Zhiyou felt like a stone fell from his heart. The patriarch on the other hand was looking at Quin Qi with the same expressionless face. Thus giving Quin Qi goosebumps, 'What is going on? What is this awkward situation!!?' Quin Qi silently shouted in his heart. "What's your name?" The patriarch suddenly asked. It was a gentle voice unmatching his expressionless face. The moment the patriarch spoke, Quin Qi's whole body shook, and he felt goosebumps again. He felt the gaze of everyone in the room fixed on himself. They were examining him from head to toe. "I-It is Quin Qi," Quin Qi said nervously. "Alright." The patriarch said as he walked and stood behind the greenish crystal ball. "Come, let's see your potential." Quin Qi nodded and walked over to the crystal ball. The elders and Qin Zhiyou surrounded him and watched the crystal ball eagerly. Quin Qi placed his hand on the greenish crystal ball. "What now?" He asked. "Imagine! Imagine a little blue lightning moving through your arm, reaching your palm, and then hitting the crystal ball." The patriarch said. Quin Qi closed his eyes and began imagining. The moment the little imaginary lightning hit the crystal ball, the ball shone. It was a relatively normal light. And it stayed like that for a long time. Quin Qi had his eyes still closed and, therefore, did not see the sweat on the faces of the elders. Their hearts were tightening as the seconds passed, and the light was not showing signs of getting stronger. The light started weakening, and the clan elders and patriarch lost all hope. "Ahh!" The patriarch let out a heavy sigh. However, the light in the ball suddenly flickered and then began rapidly increasing until it reached a point where it blinded everyone. Quin Qi opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was the greenish crystal ball in the same state as when he closed his eyes. 'Looks like he was wrong! I don't have potential. Well, that is a rel...' His thoughts stopped when he saw the elders around him silently shedding tears. Even the eyes of the patriarch were watery. 'What the hell is going on!!' "Hahaha!" The patriarch burst into laughter but still shed tears. It was a strange sight for Quin Qi. How could someone laugh and cry at the same time? "Finally! Finally!" The elders shouted one after another with tears in their eyes. Qin Zhiyou had his face in his arms. "Full potential! After countless years, full potential talent has been born into our Qin clan." The patriarch shouted. "Elders, prepare a banquet. We shall celebrate for three days and three nights! Everyone is welcome!" "YES, patriarch!" The elders bowed in tears and left the hall flying. They did not even care about hiding their identities anymore. Qin Zhiyou also left the hall and went outside to recruit the children who awakened a class with potential. Only Quin Qi and the patriarch remained inside the awakening hall. When Qin Zhiyou left the hall, the patriarch, full of joy, turned toward Quin Qi. "I have a request!" Quin Qi said with a solemn voice. The shock on his face from before was gone, replaced by a complicated expression. "Say it!" The patriarch said proudly. After all, what could a twelve-year-old kid request? Whatever he requested, the patriarch was sure that he could fulfill it. "I wish the kid outside named Jong Ji and his mother to be expelled to the Drakoniks island!" Quin Qi said in a cold voice. When the patriarch heard Quin Qi's request, his face instantly became expressionless. It was not hard for him to expel a child from a nameless family and his mother to Drakoniks island. However, how could a twelve-year-old kid have such a wicked heart? Drakoniks island, while its outer parts are not dangerous, the deeper parts of the island are not to be taken lightly. Even the top experts from the Four Great Clans suffered heavy casualties trying to explore the inner parts of it, and now he needs to expel a twelve-year-old child to such a place. Isn't it better to directly execute the kid? "Reason?" The patriarch asked with a somehow irritated voice. "There are many reasons, one of them is because he did not awaken a class with potential, but knowing his personality, he would definitely want to remain friends with me. And again, knowing his personality, he would constantly bother me and disturb my training. I guess that we both don't want that to happen?" "Since you suggested it, I guess you already know what kind of place the Drakoniks island is?" "Yes, I know!" "QUIT kidding me!!" The patriarch shouted in anger. "You want to expel someone on Drakoniks island for such a petty reason!!?" Unlike Qin Zhiyou, the patriarch controlled himself and did not release pressure on Quin Qi. After all, there was a significant gap between the patriarch's realm and Qin Zhiyou's. Therefore, a master, like the patriarch, would never let his emotions control him. "Will you expel him or not?" Quin Qi asked in a calm voice. It was like a completely different person speaking through Quin Qi. There was not even the slightest hesitation or fear in his voice, like he was not the same child who trembled in fear just a few minutes before. "Jong Ji will not be expelled. You better forget it!" The patriarch said without hesitation. To the patriarch's surprise, Quin Qi nodded and said: "I understand!" 'Was he testing me?' The patriarch thought. 'This child...Well, it does not matter. I guess I can forgive him this time.' The patriarch was about to say something when he noticed Quin Qi's expression changing and immediately stopped. A wicked smile appeared on Quin Qi's face. "I wonder will the Jin Clan accept a prodigy with a full potential lightning class? I am sure they will. Should I join the Jin Clan?" "Are you threatening me, the patriarch of the Qin Clan?" The patriarch said, trembling in anger. "Little boy, you may have full potential, but don't you dare THINK I CAN'T KILL YOU!" A strong wave of energy erupted from the patriarch, and a little, blue needle-like object flew from the patriarch's hand toward Quin Qi. The energy waves bypassed Qing Qi but struck the two one-meter stone pillars. Crack, c***k! Cracks appeared on the two pillars and eventually collapsed into pieces together with the crystal balls. Swoosh! When the blue needle passed by Quin Qi, it scratched Quin Qi's cheek a little. The moment it scratched his cheek, it disappeared. "Hmph! Did you really think that would scare me? You actually dare not kill me, you...Aghhh!" Quin Qi fell to his knees in pain. Tears were flowing like a river down his cheeks. "What did you do to me? Aghhht!" "Hmph! Arrogant little kid, you want to threaten me? You are still a hundred years too early!" The patriarch coldly said as he watched Quin Qi kneeling before him and dying in pain. "Is...it...lightning?Arghh!" Quin Qi asked as he was slowly losing consciousness. His vision darkened, and he heard the patriarch's voice distant. The last thing he heard before losing consciousness was: "That kid Jong Ji would be expelled together with his mother. However, I hope this will be your first and last time threatening me. Try threatening me again, and you will pay with your life." Quin Qi fell forward with his face hitting the red carpet. Before the patriarch left the awakening hall, he coldly stared at Quin Qi. ... Outside... When the patriarch left the awakening hall, it was dusk. The clouds in the sky had a reddish color. The crowd from before had disappeared. Only Qin Zhiyou and a child were left, and they talked about something in the distance. Even though he was far from them, the patriarch could still vaguely hear them. Even if he did not hear their conversation, he already knew who that child was. Jong Ji. "I am sorry to bother you, but my friend Quin Qi went inside an hour ago. Is he alright?" Jong Ji worriedly asked. "He.." Qin Zhiyou was about to answer him, but he suddenly turned back. The patriarch was flying towards them. Qin Zhiyou lowered his head, placed his right hand on the heart, and knelt on one leg. That was the greeting that the ones of lower status must show to the ones of higher status. Jong Ji was confused for a second, but he quickly followed Qin Zhiyou's actions. The patriarch landed before Qin Zhiyou and Jong Ji. "Raise," he said lightly. Both raised. "What is your order, patriarch?" Qin Zhiyou asked. The patriarch ignored him and instead turned to Jong Ji. Although he knew the child was Jong Ji, he still asked: "Are you, Jong Ji?" "I am." "Good!" The patriarch said and turned to Qin Zhiyou. "Jong Ji!" The patriarch raised his voice. "By the request of Quin Qi, you and your mother have been expelled to the Drakoniks island!"
