After their initial chance encounter in the elevator, Augustina made it through a series of interviews and finally landed the secretarial job at the company. She was now officially part of the organization, and her responsibilities included managing Mr. Joe's calendar, among other tasks.

In her first week on the job, Augustina often observed that Mr. Joe, who was the enigmatic owner of the business empire, was frequently involved in high-level meetings and decision-making processes. She noticed that his name was mentioned in subdued soft tones and with great respect by her colleagues, but nobody had explicitly mentioned or explained his role as the owner of the company.

One day, during her lunch break, Augustina decided in her mind to have a simple conversation with a friendly coworker, Sarah, who had been with the company for some years.

"Sarah, I've noticed something curious since I started here. Whenever Mr. Robert Joe's name comes up, it's always in subdued soft tones, and everybody seems to speak about him with so much respect. May I know his role in the company?" Augustina queried in a casual but more friendly tone. Her heart is thirsty to know more about this mysterious but charming stranger that turned out to be her boss.

Sarah paused and lowered her voice.

"Oh, you've noticed that too, huh? Well, Mr. Joe is… quite influential here. He's involved in all the major decisions and top-level meetings. I think he's got a lot of say in whatever happens in the company."

Augustina nodded in confirmation of her expectations.

"I see. But what exactly is his position or title here? I haven't come across it in my job description."

Sarah whispered

"That's the thing, no one talks about it openly. I think they prefer to keep it discreet. But let's just say he's a key figure here, and his role is, well, quite special."

Augustina intrigued

"Special? How so?"

Sarah glanced around before continuing.

"I don't have the authority to say too much, but he's more than just an executive. Let's just say he is responsible for the state of this company today. He is very… influential."

Augustina curiously asked again.

"Influential in what way?"

Sarah smiled

"You'll figure it out if you spend more time here. It's all part of the charm and mystery of working for Mr. Joe. He's a man of many talents."

Sarah said confidently.

"Certainly, Mr. Joe. The Oceanic Tech merger could provide us with a very solid entry into the renewable energy sector, which is poised for a handful of growth. It is a supplement to our sustainability initiatives and long-term strategic vision."

Robert Joe nodded thoughtfully.

"That's a key point. I like the synergy. But what about the financial stamina of Oceanic Tech? I heard some rumblings in the market about their recent challenges."

Sarah explained.

"You're right; there have been some challenges, but I've been in talks with their Chief Financial Officer. We've set clear terms to prepare for probable risks. Our due diligence has also shown that their technology is cutting-edge, which can be a game-changer for us."

Robert Joe steeped his fingers

"Tell me about their leadership team. How do they fit into our corporate culture? You know how important alignment is for our business."

Sarah Assured

"I've reviewed their leadership profiles. While there might be differences in corporate culture, I believe that our strong management principles can help integrate our team effectively. We can also arrange team-building sessions."

Robert Joe smiled

"I appreciate your thorough approach, Sarah. Let's proceed with the due diligence process, but keep me closely updated. We will go for transparency and ensure our values are maintained throughout the merger."

Despite this revelation, Augustina remained discreet and professional, never letting on that she had discovered Robert Joe's true identity. She focused on her role and the tasks at hand, but the knowledge of his position added a layer of complexity to her feelings as she continued to interact with him.

John, a coworker, came to interact with Augustina during her break session.

"Augustina, have you ever wondered about Mr. Joe's role in the company? He's not your typical executive, is he?" He asked as though he hadn't come to ask

Augustina maintained a neutral tone.

"Yes, I've noticed he's quite involved in high-level decisions and meetings. He must have a unique position here."

John lowered his voice.

"Well, that's the thing. Nobody talks openly about it. He's not just another executive; he's… different."

Augustina Playing along

"Different in what way, John?"

John said confidentially.

"It is as if he's got a hand in everything, but no one seems to know exactly what he does. Some say he's got a mysterious background, but it's all rumors, you know."

Augustina Nodded

"Rumors can be quite intriguing. People like a bit of mystery, I suppose."

John is also intrigued.

"Do you have any theories, Augustina?"

Augustina smiled enigmatically.

"Oh, I try not to speculate. I'm here to do my job and learn as much as I can from everyone, including Mr. Joe."
