Prequel - Tristan's Plight

416 Words
Once upon a time, Tristan DarkStar stood at the edge of the cliff, gazing out at the sprawling city below. His sharp azure eyes scanned the skyline, taking in every detail of the bustling metropolis. He could hear the sounds of the city, the honking of horns, the chatter of people, the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For a moment, Tristan felt a sense of peace wash over him. He was alone with his thoughts, free from the pressures of his duties and responsibilities. But that peace was short-lived. In the distance, he could see a faint glimmer of light, and he knew what it meant. Trouble was brewing, and it was up to him to handle it. With a deep breath, Tristan leapt off the cliff, his body falling through the air as he summoned his powers. He twisted and turned in midair, the wind rushing past him as he accelerated towards the source of the light. As he landed on the ground, his black leather boots touching down on the concrete, he saw what he had been expecting. A group of dark figures had gathered in the alleyway, their intentions unknown but undoubtedly nefarious. Tristan's jaw tightened as he stepped forward, his presence alone causing the group to take a step back. They knew who he was, knew what he was capable of, and they didn't want to test him. But Tristan was never one to back down from a fight. He could sense that there was more going on here than met the eye, and he was determined to get to the bottom of it. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?" he demanded, his voice low and menacing. The figures hesitated, unsure of how to respond. But one stepped forward, a sly grin on his face. "We're just here to have a little fun," he said, his voice dripping with malice. Tristan didn't believe him for a second. He knew there was more to this than just some random act of violence. "Get out of here, now," he growled. "Before things get ugly." The figures hesitated for a moment longer, but then they turned and ran, disappearing into the shadows. Tristan watched them go, his mind racing. There was something about this encounter that didn't sit right with him, and he knew he needed to find out more. With a determined look on his face, he set off into the night, ready to unravel the mystery that lay ahead.
