Ava was my ex-girlfriend.
I should have started telling her she was my best friend, but Elle would eventually know the truth that before all these, the boss-secretary or best friend relationship, Ava was my girlfriend for a year. We realized we were better off as friends and continued that way, and becoming my secretary was something we didn’t expect.
Like Elle, she applied to the company without knowing we owned it. Dad was training Caleb and me by then, but when I decided to continue working for my father, I offered the executive secretary position to her, which she gladly accepted.
Elle’s only answer was okay, which was not okay for me. I would rather have her ask me questions, but she didn’t, and instead, she closed her eyes and ignored me for the rest of the travel
