(Elle’s POV)
“Tell me more,” Apple picked up her strawberry smoothie and slurped on the straw, but her eyes didn’t leave mine.
My beautiful best friend called my mother and begged her to allow us to meet today, even if I had just gotten out of the hospital yesterday. Knowing Apple would make her crazy the whole day texting and calling her, my mother allowed me to go with certain conditions. We had to meet halfway because she didn’t want her to travel far to meet me and had to consider her travel time in going home.
We were allowed to have four hours top to catch up, and I had to be home before dinner as Billy wanted us to have the meal together.
