Aiden insisted we stay together for the night, but when I read Ava’s message that he hadn’t canceled his dinner with Jasmine, I told him to go. Despite wanting to sleep in, I decided to leave and left him a message not to look for me, promising him he would see me at work tomorrow.
Apple sent me tons of messages and calls that I didn’t answer.
At this point, I had no idea who I was and where I was going. I was going with the flow, to the unknown, the unplanned, the one with no direction. My hand gripped the doorknob of our home, suddenly sniffling, telling my dad through my silent cry how I failed him.
